to be fair, he took a shot at scientology too so it's not like he was favoring one over the other. sort of a weird way to close though but hey, it's hollywood

anyway, the re-run is on again. i missed the beginning so i'm watching it. i kind of laughed at the cast of glee. all the guys are flamboyant and when they're accepting their awards, the girls have their hands clasped and are crying, lol. to each their own i guess.

Social Network was terrible. Most overrated movie I can remember in a long time.

Should I assume Social Network won best picture based on the above post?

unnecessary? i'm pretty sure the point of the joke was to parody the thanks to god that award winners give all the time on these types of shows, especially in america.

Especially unstoppable. Slumdog got overrated, but was at least well made. Unstoppable was crap (worst movie I've seen in theaters in years) and somehow got in the mid 80% range on Rotten Tomatoes. It was filmed in a fast pace even though nothing happened throughout the entire movie. The "action stars" spent 70% of the movie sitting and hoping to get to things on time. Yet there was tons of ridiculous, over the top situations that "could happen" (none of them ever did), and the movie promoters had the nerve to shove "based on a true story" down our throats.

Totally unncessary. Not a space for him to push his agenda. He's known to be a militant atheist. I wonder what people would say if a christian started preaching while hosting the Golden Globe.

Why would atheists get offended by an actor thanking an entity they believe does not exist? It's weird. There actually atheists who talk more about religion that theists themselves.

While thanking God, they are not trying to throw a jab at atheists. By using God in his sentence, he's clearly trying to mock believers. I'm sure you can tell the difference.
