dumbass, I knew it before I looked it up on wikipedia.
Of course the "modern" blues stuff came after the "old" Jazz. Like that proves anything

Dips#!ts can be so dense sometime. Couple of years ago, King headlined a tour called "The Smooth Jazz Festival." Not bluegrass country, or reggaeton, or something not remotely related to the genre. Next time you get ready to talk out of your @$$, flush that s#!t and hold the hot wind.

retard, jazz is not a post electric blues phenomenon. there are cats playing jazz at the turn of the century. while it is true there are many common roots the "blues" you talk of is in no way ancestral to jazz. (BB King did play in some big band style groups as a teen but youve never heard it since it wasnt ever recorded). You could of at least said miles david

Texas Batman and Bush have something in common. Both are incredibly dumb.

More specifically bb king (who doesnt even play the standard blues scale (minor pentatonic) came well after jazz and blues were entirely different and established genres.

wow, certainly defensive of our little snafu. while NO may have been a primary point in the development of jazz (and particularly a brass based style) it is in no way the only area where jazz was developing at that time (case in oint white guys with guitars were playing jazz in the major metros in the US eddie lang etc) at the time period your talking about.

Why was NO important for brass based jazz? All the leftover military band instruments from the Spanish-American war flooded the market in this major port.

So you can come up with your own definition of the blues to detemine whether it came before or after jazz. Nice.

clearly the roots of the blues are much deeper than jazz in that it uses simpler chord changes, is rarely polyrythmic and has a limited scale vocab (at least traditionally). One guy with his foot and his voice can play the blues.

One of the best blues performances I've ever seen was Keb Mo. He sat at the edge of the stage, accoustic guitar, and tapped his foot. It just blew everyone away. So simple yet so beautiful.

Blues has been around since the times of slavery. Jazz evolved from that in the 1920's. You go to CD Warehouse, blues will be melded into smooth jazz. BB King's latter cd's are categorized into smooth jazz. He headlined a smooth jazz tour. Anybody else wanna step right up and see how strong my pimp hand is, lemme throw some baby powder on it right fast.

Okay. Insidehoops Myth #6.

you said BB King is your mother's favorite because she loves the jazz. BB King doesnt play Jazz. 'meld' it into whatever you want you are wrong.

you said blues 'evolve into' jazz. that is wrong too, Jazz came from blues because all American music came from blues, there was no evolutionary altering of either one, they still both exist today in very different forms. Barbershop came from blues too, is that the same, does BB King do babershop?
That's it, they are two seperate and completely different genres, becaused they are grouped together at a record store doesn't make them the same. Only a moron 9you) would come to that conclusion. Hip Hop used to be in the same section as Alternative in the eighties, are they the same?

you should stick your pimphand up your ass

Name me one current blues musician off of the top of your head. One. And no Whitey Ford doesn't count. Blues is an American past time. Like rap evolved into hip hop, blues has moved on. Look it up in Wikipedia, a thesaurus, the back of your hand, whatever floats your boat. I'm dispelling myths, not arguing a begotten art form.

You'd probably like a pimp hand up your @$$, but I'm not Gepetto so you're going to have to find you somebody else to stuff your sock puppet.

BB King is an early pioneer. The guy's you've named have probably been doing it for 30 years or more. I said CURRENT. You look it up, and I'll be powdering my hand for when you come back.
