I feel vindicated for all the "He sucks" whenever i said he had to play minutes.
The guy is incredible raw, he is almost always lost in the defense, it's even funny to watch him try to get back to his man after he helped on a double team. Offense is so-so.
But the guy is big is fast and in this era of crappy crappy bigs, you got to play and develop guys like Mozgov. It's more important then getting irrelevant wins.
I have to give credit where credit is due.I was saying we should let the guy play even if he gets fouls simply because he'll still help more than him sitting on the bench. Blue&Orange however was in his corner from day one.
I also agree with your assessment of him.His basketball IQ isnt the greatest and he is far from a polished, refined player BUT in the modern style of basketball where the traditional center has all but become obsolete,to have one shouldn't be taken for granted.
Knicks get career night from Russian, beat Pistons -- The AP reports: Timofey Mozgov’s initiation to NBA life was so shaky that he eventually went to the bench and stayed there for three weeks. He earned himself another shot Sunday night. “I’m excited about this, because I want to play,” Mozgov said. The rookie had season highs of 23 points and 14 rebounds in his first appearance since Jan. 9, and the New York Knicks beat the Detroit Pistons 124-106 on Sunday night. Amare Stoudemire scored 33 points despite a sprained right knee and Danilo Gallinari added 29 for the Knicks, who seized control early in the fourth quarter after it was tied through three. Gallinari made two 3-pointers in a decisive 12-2 burst to open the final period, with coach Mike D’Antoni saying it might have been his best game of the season... Ben Gordon made seven 3-pointers and scored a season-high 35 points for the Pistons, who have lost three in a row. Rookie Greg Monroe had 15 points and 17 rebounds.

Re: Mozgov's best game this season was vs Pistons January 30
the biggest problem with Mozguv is his confidence.. Sometimes he looks scarred and about to cry.. Your 7'1, no need to be scarred Timo. If he can get his confidence up he can be a nice rotational player for us.
