Depends on which Amare comes back.

Also, Nash is a year older. That will have some affect.

Who do the Suns loose in the offseason? Marion?

If the Suns had Amare this season, it would be hard to say they wouldn't have been the best team.

But with Amare next season, I expect them to be the favorites. I just don't know about Nash and what thier team makeup will look like.

Dumbass thread!

Get off the board, your team just lost.

Why don't you go get your rod and reel and enjoy the offseason - Bitch!

20 playoff games will take a toll on a team that is already undermanned. With KT, Amare and draft picks, teams won't be able to attack Phoenix in the same manner anymore. With Spurs and Phoenix both possibly improving in the offseason(Scola....Amare) as one poster put it, Mavs better handle their business here and now, because there is no guarantee that they will be able to make it back again.

Default Did you expect to see Dallas in the finals?

To start the season did you expect them in the finals?

At any point in the season did you expect them to get to the finals?

I don't think they were favorites by any stretch, but I do think they had a very good chance to make it to the finals. They were one of the true contenders in the NBA all season long.

Default No

Not after the first game.

In fact, when the Suns were up during this game, I figured that was it for the Mavs.

But congrats to AJ for his outstanding coaching.

He made the adjustments when necessary.

During the season, no, but when they were up 3-1 on San Antonio I knew it. Yeah, issa shame it took my so long to recognize, but at least I never gave up the faith once I got it.

I didn't see anyone dethroning the Spurs.

At the allstar break, I would have put the odds something like:

San Antonio: 45%
Dallas: 40%
Phoenix: 10%
Other: 5%

To start the season? Hell no.

About halfway through? I figured they had a 50/50 shot. First game of the SA series I predicted that they'd win the title.

Nope.

Lol, this doesn't change anything for me in that regard.
Next year, again i won't be under the impression they'll be in the Finals.

I see this more as a fluke year for them, rather than what will become the norm.

Picked the Spurs to win it all at the beginning of the season but Dallas was 2nd choice. Once the playoffs started, I had Dallas winning it although I'd still maybe pick the Spurs if had money on it.
