Default Renaldo Balkman, where does he fit?

This is his second stint w/ the knicks.. I think he can be a valuable player for us. Really Athletic and defensive minded. I wouldn't be mad if he gets 10 or so mpg spelling out Amare or coming in and giving us a defensive presence.

I only see him in a very limited role.

He can't shoot and is vastly too light to help on defense.

No way he backs up Amar'e.

He becomes Turiaf when he is on the bench.

One of the Knicks biggest cheerleaders.

Why in the hell did Denver extend him?

He needs to get a couple of minutes each game, below 10 tho. He's a great glue and energy guy, we need those guys too.

Those guys play key roles on teams too. Veterans, hustle players and energy guys are all very important to success in the NBA.

I think that Shelden Williams will spell STAT or Turiaf before Balkman does. Bigger body and a better rebounder. His wife is still 10X's better than him but he is 6'9" and 250lbs...rebounding and ppg avergares were around 5 and 5 and he is physical. Maybe he has something to prove and could be serviceable.

Really hope you are right. He did average 17 minutes per game with Nene, K-Mart and Birdman in that frontcourt. Here we have Amar'e and that's it.
