Default What do you think of my May '10 evaluation of Greg Monroe?

Wrote that in May of last year. How do you think it has turned out?

I think its a decent appraisal. I think Greg Monroe (along with Tracy McGrady of course) is the main reason the Pistons have any shot (even if it is a long one) of still being the playoff discussion. I think Greg can be an 18/10 guy for sure. He has great passing from the post a la C'Webb as well. The main thing he has going for him in my opinion is his garbage collection skills and he is usually putting them rebounds right back in the basket for 2. So you don't have to run your offense through him for him to get his numbers. Honestly at this point, he is the only player on the team I wouldn't trade if I was running the organization.

Nice eval. Monroe has been what we were expecting so far. We're still trying to figure out what position he plays more naturally, though it looks like he will play 4 and 5. I think the best thing Detroit can do is get the best big man they can put next to him whether it's a PF or C. They need to get someone to compliment his game. I think this offseason Monroe will grow a lot as a player and he'll be a go to guy next year.
