Are you freaking joking me? We just lost the best player in the league and are reeling right now, but franchises are measured over time, not over a regular-season record. You have the most decorated rookie dominating the news and you still have the 8th worst record in the league. We are coming off one of our most decorated periods in our history and will take time to recover. We had a really good run in the 90's with Mike Fratello. The mid-80's was by far our best overall team - only Michael Jordan stopped us from playing for titles.

Baron Davis is not coming to a better city, but there is no way in hell he is coming to a worse franchise. He just got traded from that one.
What the hell is up with this Cavs/Clippers p!ssing match? Both teams got what they were looking for. All of this heated rhetoric is really pointless. It is understandable why Cavs fans would dislike the Heat... It is understandable why Clippers fans would dislike the Lakers.

But, the Cavs v. Clips? There is no bad blood, here.

Enough is enough.

I've always liked the Cavs posters here. I just saw a couple posters bashing the Clippers... saying "This shows why they are the worst franchise for sure" blah blah. If the Lakers who have been to the finals 31 times wanna mouth off.. w/e... but Cavs fans right now shouldn't have that cockiness towards other fans.

Of course the Clippers jokes get old.

The only clear cut winner in this deal is the Cleveland area restaurant industry. Davis should keep a couple going just on his own.

I absolutely am in favor of this trade. As many on here know, I'm not the hugest supporter of Baron Davis simply because he never put in the full effort and motivation needed in order to help the Clippers succeed, after feeding us fans so much hype about how he's excited to return to Los Angeles and wanted to do everything in his power to help change the perception of the Clippers around the entire NBA. This, he obviously, was not able to deliver due to his sub-par play.

As much as I'm a fan of the NBA around draft time, with Bledose, Gordon, Aminu, Griffin, Jordan, the Clippers really don't need any more picks, mainly in a year where many consider it to be among the weakest in history and on top of that, the Clippers have the Wolves unprotected 2012 first round pick, which could be top 3, but even so, I'm expecting it to be in the 4-7 range, which is still big during what many are expecting to be a great draft. Along with that, the Clippers can probably flip Kaman to a team on draft night for a mid first or something due to the fact Chris will be an expiring, and, when healthy, is arguably a top 7 center in the NBA.

Maurice Williams may not be the greatest point guard, and his contract (8.5 million of player options for the next 2 years) isn't as appealing either, but I believe he'll be a nice fit next to Gordon until Bledsoe is fully ready, than he would be an excellent 6th man to have off the bench. Williams might not be a great playmaker, but his shooting will be greatly needed to spread the floor in order to allow Gordon to penetrate and Blake to take care of his business in the post. Plus, he might not pick up any of his player options, which would be a better sign, even though that is doubtful. Moon is just a filler basically and won't be surprised if he gets waived.

The way I view this trade is Baron Davis + 7th pick for Mo Williams + Cap Space to sign DeAndre Jordan + more playing time to develop Eric Bledsoe.

This most definitely did not piss off Blake. It made sure the Clips had money to re-sign his boy Deandre Jordan for one. It upgraded the PG spot as well, giving them a nice spot up shooter to play off of Blake an co. who has a ton of playoff experience.

A lottery pick. We took his contract and they gave us a lottery pick. Why is that so hard to understand. Lac still has Minnesota 1st rd lottery pick so for them to save 16 million is huge.good trade for both teams

Gilbert basically bought a high lottery pick for $12 million. What is there to understand? Baron Davis had absolutely nothing to do with the decision and he may never even play in Cleveland.

Plus, I think the franchise is trying to get as far away from the LeBron James era as they possibly can... And I'm with them on that.

This was a great move for the future of our team.
