Good Post.
I'm not sure that he is withdrawaling at all. He claims it has been a couple of weeks since he last used. I believe him, because his blood test came back negative across the board and, even though GMA pushed the line that this only accounts for 72 hours, that isn't entirely true. On a blood test, they can find trace amounts of drugs (depending on the drug, of course) for a hell of a lot longer than that.

Also, his main thing was cocaine and there is no physical withdrawal with that drug. The drugs that cause violent shaking, vomiting, sleepless nights, etc. are opiates (heroin), which he has made pretty clear that he wasn't doing on this recent binge.

There is psychological withdrawal from cocaine, but -- even at 72 hours -- that would be pretty much gone... Let alone a couple of weeks.

He didn't say that he is impervious. He said that you have to read the directions and know what you are doing... Which is exactly, 100-percent right. When you mix cocaine and heroin, you are rolling the dice.

As bad a rap as it gets, crack by itself is very, very unlikely to kill you. Deaths related to cocaine are almost always accompanied by other drugs and it is the mix that causes the death.

Charlie has been partying for 30+ years... He knows what he is doing. I think that is the message he is trying to get across. I've told stories before of the house that I lived in when I attended Ohio State. I'm not going to sit here and say that it was on the level of what Charlie Sheen was doing, but it was nuts... Every drug was constantly available and the house that me and my buddies lived in was pretty renowned on a campus that prides itself on 'partying.'

However, while it may have seemed to outsiders that we were completely out-of-control (and, maybe on some level, we were), we were all very intelligent about drugs and what not to mix together. When you enter that lifestyle, you realize there are two kinds of people...

The ones that know what they are doing and the ones that don't. The ones that don't are usually the people you hear about on the news.

I think its hilarious that he is telling everyone to shove it up their ass but there is no way someone can convince me he isn't crazy.

the fact that he is chain smoking in pretty much every interview I have seen him in lets me know he doesn't take that very seriously either...

mental withdraw from drugs can last a while btw...

the withdraw of xanax and valium and all that can last years depending on how long you have taken them...and according to Denise Richards Sheen is a monster pill head...

that stuff takes it's toll on your mental health, no matter how safe you are...I think it is quite obvious Sheen's past drug use has effected his current mental state

Career's nowhere close to being done.

I don't think he's going to kick to bucket anytime soon but that's just a guess. Guy clearly went HARD and survived it. Clearly knows what drugs to use and what to mix 'em with and what not to(remember hearing that on one of those interviews too). Came up clean for the past 72 hours on those tests too. Guy just seems to like to party. People always paint drugs\partying a one way ticket to death but it takes a long longer than some would think IMO.

Starting to think he's just f*cking with people now tho. Maybe it's the drugs who looped his mind but he seems like he knows exactly what he's doing. Good just be a very good PR move.

wait a second... withdrawal last for weeks,... possibly months...

at least psychologically/mentally it does.

Clearly his mind has been going through some changes because it's been detoxing.

And you know what... I bet when he was using he would act "normal"...
it's now that he's stop using he is going a little "crazy" and not acting so normal.

He fought to get them paid and he won. That was one of his major crusades since they shut down production and the company finally caved.

I think that people are so used to the model that is used in every contrived celebrity scandal that seeing something different and someone actually being honest about life has thrown them off and made them think that something must be wrong with that person.

Charlie was 'supposed' to release a statement that he was in rehab, go away for a few weeks, come back and act totally contrite... Maybe break down in tears about how he hit 'rock bottom'... Beg for his old job back and eventually get to work again. Then, the country would predictably 'forgive' him (even though he did nothing wrong and certainly nothing that impacts anyone outside of he and his family... ie: no one's business) and he would continue making millions per episode.

He has refused that pathetic template and people are literally freaking out over it. I'm just curious what exactly he is saying that makes him insane? That he did nothing wrong? He didn't. That the people who are judging him are self-righteous hypocrites? He is right. That AA is a bullsh!t cult for the weak-minded? It's true. That he is allowed to live his life as he sees fit? Absolutely right.

Where is the insanity?

Won't deny that. At the same time him wanting to go hard probably hasn't came up in the past year alone. Guy's been doing this for a VERY long time. Maybe it finally has took a toll on his mental health but it's not crazy to believe that it didn't.

Seems like a binge guy, not a full fledged addict. Someone who can stop when they need to but 8 months down the road go right back at it for a period of time and just repeat the process. Clearly still a problem but my guess would be something he knows he can do.

That is just pure speculation on your part. Sheen has always been incredibly eccentric. I see nothing in his current actions to assume it is due to symptoms of withdrawal. Can cocaine withdrawal 'mess with your mind'? Sure.

I just don't see it in this particular instance. Any stimulus on the planet can have a psychological impact for 'months' or even 'years' depending on the person... It doesn't have to be an illicit drug. You are applying a very broad assumption to Sheen and I just don't see what you are apparently seeing.

I've been with people who are withdrawaling from serious drugs... It doesn't look like that.

We aren't talking about xanex and valium. Those are two of the most physically addictive drugs on the entire planet. I'm telling you right now... You DO NOT become physically addicted to cocaine.

It isn't possible. You can't broadly apply characteristics of one drug completely across the board to all drugs.

Ya that's what I don't get. He doesn't look like he's dealing with any withdrawls what so ever. He's done tons of interviews that combined are pretty lengthy. I think it'd be really obvious if dude was having withdrawls.

Not sure when he got clean tho, so maybe he's past all that at this point.

The insanity is where he claims he shows people magic and provides them with life changing experiences that they will remember forever, his brain operating on a level that isn't from this terrestrial realm, he has a different heart/brain/whatever, he blinked and he cured his brain, etc.
