Pistons had no#1 option
The championship Spurs where constructed similar to these mavericks team with great and good role players around their star Timmy.
When Miami beat The mavs's they had Wade and a team of over the hill players so there was no Real second option..so no more excused for Dirk

dirk has played with a bunch of regular season stars his entire career that fall off dramatically in the playoffs.
he's played on two legit contenders. 06 and 07. and even then, dirk never had a good defensive big next to him, a legit 2nd option, or a great coach.
you need the above three to win almost always.
there is a difference between championship talent and talented teams. dirk and lebron are perfect examples of players that had very good teams, just not championship level teams.
go back through history and look up how many superstar players won a title without an all-nba teammate. its happened for three players in the last 31 years. jordan/duncan/hakeem. thats it. those are the only three guys to do it.
dirk hasn't had an all nba teammate since 03, and that was an often injured nash that wasn't even half the player he became when he got healthy and the nba changed the rules.
whatever though. the dirk hate is just absurd. he's been a fantastic playoff performer.
26/11/3 for his career in the playoffs and one of the best elimination game players of all time.
if you people think for a second that dirk's teams are even remotely comparable to the teams winning titles over the last 31 years then you need a new sport to follow.
