Exclamation The Maloofs have the huevos to pull this one off

AI and Artest would be an interesting combo of superstars.
The Kings would either be a much better or a much worse team
with the trade. The Sixers on the other hand would be
an older version of the Kings of 2003 and 2004 which in
the Atlantic division of 2006 would be enough to win the division.

The Maloofs like to gamble and I see this trade happening.
AI will be traded to a Western Conference team (Kings,
Clippas, or T Wolves) unless IT steps up in another moment
of temporary insanity and takes on both AI and C Webb
in a trade.

If we keep Brad I'm all for it. We're already short big bodies, hopefully we can get Hunter too. It'd be tight to see Miller play the 4 at certain points of the game like his first year here. IMO he plays PF better than C.

Default Clips trade bait for AI

Billy King was ready to trade AI for Maggette and Livingston this summer
and the Clips would not make the deal because Livingstick is considered
untouchable. The problem with this deal too is that the Clips would
have to throw in Mobley to make it work under the cap.

The Clips are mentioned in rumors coming from the various media
outlets in cities other than LA (where the usual Clipper front
office response has been to deny any possible trades).
Again Maggette who the media has traded a dozen times over
the past year is part of the rumors, and I think it is credible
this time like in the Artest dealings of him to be part of a package.
Without Livingston, Maggette and Mobley along with cap filler
Rebraca could be dealt for AI. The Clips could add Minny's
1st round draft pick from the Cassell deal too. Some rumors
have Sammy being part of deal instead of Mobley. I dont
see that happening. Sammy will retire a Clip and join Dunleavy's
coaching staff after mentoring Livingstick.

Why would the sixers want maggete when the have korver, green, and Igoudola playing the 2 and 3?

Some think it would turn the team's locker room into World War III. Some think it would make the team -- hands down -- the toughest crew pound-for-pound in the NBA.

Joe Maloof thinks it would be a match made in heaven.

Maloof, owner of the Sacramento Kings, told me today that he would have no fear whatsoever of putting the volatile Ron Artest and the volatile Allen Iverson together as teammates.

"Absolutely not," Maloof said in a telephone conversation. "I think they would be fabulous together because they both have the same personalities. They both want to win. They're both warriors. And they both bring it in every game. When you get guys like that together, there's no telling what can happen."

Maloof did not say the Kings were definitely out to trade for Iverson. He said team president Geoff Petrie was handling all trade talks, and would be the one to determine whether Sacramento becomes a major player in the A.I. Sweepstakes.

However, Maloof said Petrie told him a few days ago that the Kings were "in the mix" for Iverson.

Kings point guard Mike Bibby, who can opt out of his contract after this season, would certainly be involved in any deal, and Sacramento has several other players, including Corliss Williamson, Maurice Taylor and Vitaly Potapenko, who have expiring contracts.

Iverson and Artest would certainly be fun to watch, but I have my doubts about how well they'd work together. If Artest was complaining about not getting enough touches just a week or so ago, imagine how he'd feel playing with A.I.

Personally, I want A.I. either in Minnesota or Dallas. I say that because I'd love to see how strong those teams would become with him.

A.I. and K.G. deserve each other. And I say that in a good way. Both are all-time greats who have languished alongside role players for all but one season (each).

I think Kevin Garnett is one of the few superstars who would fit in well with A.I. because K.G.'s nature is to defer, and A.I.'s is to dominate. K.G. doesn't need the ball to impact a game, as does A.I.'s friend and current teammate Chris Webber, so I think Minny would be nice with A.I.

The problem is, the T-Wolves don't have the pieces to make a deal work, unless they can swing a three-or-four-team deal.

There have been rumors that Dallas would be willing to give up Jerry Stackhouse, Austin Croshere and Devin Harris for Iverson, but Mark Cuban has said the Mavs will not be making a move for A.I. That's too bad, because it would be fun to see A.I. and Dirk Nowitzki play together.

Of course, an Iverson and Artest pairing would be pretty exciting too.

An espn article. More interesting things from the Maloofs.

Reasons why don't want AI to become a King:

Kings have always been about the team, and not the player. They have also been about working hard, and being good people off the court (Ron has been ok so far). AI, however, is known for his lack of enthusiasm off the court, and with all the things the Kings do in community activities and practices, I can see AI becomming a major problem. Plus, he demands the ball, and with the team we have now, the most success we've had is when the ball is moving and that was shown last night against the hawks.

Reasons why I'd like to see this deal go down: Getting AI is one step closer to getting KG. We can use AI in a trade for KG, or use him as a reason for KG to come to the Kings.

Bibby + K-9 + Salmons for AI

SAR + Garcia + Miller (or AI + Williamson) for KG

So we could have a lineup like this:

AI
Martin
Artest
SAR
Miller
(Williamson/Garcia/Price/Hart/Taylor for the bench)

Or:

AI
Martin
Artest
KG
Taylor
(Price/Williamson/Hart/Vitaly for the Bench)

Or:

Price
Martin
Artest
KG
Miller
(Hart/Garcia/SAR/Taylor for the Bench)

As I read that, I was a combination of &

My first reaction was: they could not have had AI in a Lakers jersey before it went through the nba office which would take a day or so. So i was thinking something was wrong. Then I noticed all the other things that proved it was fake

every season, I'm usually all pumped up for each game and can't miss it....but this season It's been different, boring might be the word, but no real enthusiasm for the games. everybody knows ARCO isn't anywhere as loud as it used to be. muss's style isn't exactly fun to watch. this team needs some excitement back, period. AI is exciting, is he not?

damn tho that rumor about that clipper and celticss offer really over shadows any of our offers rumored...the only way i see us matchin up with those offers is if we include K-dawg which i'm not prepared to do in any circumstance!!!!!! Maybe we just play the Hiena role ...wait til the big dogs already got the big meal (iverson) and we just leave with the scrapings(Hunter) which is all we want any way (hence a belly full is a belly full) :)
