Default Bulls should use the draft to find a better backup PG than Watson

This draft is mediocre at best but the one thing that colleges have done a great job of developing lately is PGs.

I'd say that the following PGs could be available for either the Bulls (or Heat) picks in the 1st round, and would likely be an upgrade over Watson (who can score but doesn't have a clue of how to run a team).

Kemba Walker
Brandon Knight
Nolan Smith
Et'wuan Moore
Demetri McCamey

Yup. SG and PG with our two picks.

I like Knight, Smith, and McCamey.

I don't think we will draft.

We are contenders now. We've been developing talent for the last 10 years. Now is time to contend.

My bet is that we trade our picks/fillers on draft day for someone who is already in the league.

The question is who?

We could use a scorer off the bench and I hope we draft Lacedarius Dunn.

Draft picks aren't necessarily always "projects". There are players out of college who are ready to contribute right away. A player such as Taj Gibson came in and was ready to step into his role immediately.

Certain players are raw and have potential and need a few years until they can play a role, but we shouldn't and most likely won't target those players.

A player like Jordan Hamilton or someone like Lacedarius Dunn can come in and be ready to play as a rookie.

So we'll see. Either way the draft picks we've accumulated are assets and we need to use them wisely in order to get the one or two pieces we need to complete what is already a great team.

What's wrong with CJ FWWWWWAAtson? He's doing a good job off the bench and even had that 33 point game against the Nuggets filling in for Rose. Draft 1 SG, 1 combo guard, and 1 small forward.

Dunn is an undersized college SG that would struggle to get his shot off against NBA defenders.

He's basically CJ Watson's clone. Nolan Smith would be a much better choice if the Bulls decide to pick another combo-guard.

Nothing is wrong with Watson if you're asking him to come in and be a scorer. It's when he tries to run an offense that things go sour. He isn't and never will be a PG.

I would like to know who CJ is supposed to facilitate this offense through? Bare in mind, he's out there with the second string players.

Exactly. He's the best scorer on the second unit though and that includes Korver....he just meds time.....he doesn't get much burn, only to spell Rose, I doubt we find a PG in the draft better than him and wee need a SG not a point.

With a better PG, guys like Gibson and Brewer would get better looks at the basket, and the plays they call for Korver wouldn't look so obvious from a million miles away. Just having a guy in there that knows how to get some semblance of offensive flow would be nice.

But my real problem with Watson is his below average handles. Other backup PGs like Ty Lawson, Kyle Lowry and TJ Ford are light years ahead of him in that regards. Even a guy like Jarrett Jack look way more comfortable with the ball in his hand.

Bulls right now don't have too many weaknesses, but the ones they do have (lack of consistency from the SG position/backup PG) can prevent them from winning titles.
