Default Bryant skips practice; postgame shooting doesn't impress Phil Jackson

Quote:
"I don't want to think about it. I really don't. I mean, whatever," Jackson said flatly on Friday. "He felt the time to improve his shot was right away so he went back at it."

Was it too much? Jackson replied "Next" and turned away when a reporter posed the question.

Jackson historically doesn't like postgame regimens. He criticized Ron Artest earlier this season when the Lakers forward began riding a stationary bike for up to half an hour right after games in which he played sparingly.

Needless to say, Bryant did not practice Friday. He could be seen at the far end of the practice court at American Airlines Center, straddling a padded trainer's table and playing with his phone. He had the hood of a gray sweatshirt pulled over his head and didn't stifle a long yawn. He did not talk to reporters.

Gasol has never returned to the court to shoot after a game, he said.

"Usually I'm hungry after a game," he said, "so I need to hurry and go to dinner."

I guess his warrior work ethic backfired as he didn't practice with his teammates who he should be learning to passing the ball to...

So the day after his late-night shooting exhibition in Miami, Kobe Bryant sits out Lakers' practice in Dallas? Hmmm,

Let's see what happened for what it really is people. Kobe is a total attention whore and everyone close to him knows it. He can't stand Miami being in the media all the the time and decided to get the cameras on him in the Lakers only trip to Miami after he got schooled by DWade in the 4th quarter.

Why do you think he decided to do this for the first time since 2004 in MIAMI ?? It's been so many years, and in the one night all year in Miami ? Make no mistake about it, if Miami wasn't a good team this year and didn't have the attention, Kobe wouldn't have ran to the cameras desperate for a little attention.

It's no coincidence that this is the first time he's pulled this on the road since 2004.. In Miami, in a year when they acquire LeBron to team up with Wade. And a night where he looked horrible in the final 3 quarters.

Why was he working on his shot when the problem was he couldn't get separation from Wade? He should have been working on trying to create room for himself if anything. And he should have been working on his defensive game.

And of course, Kobe was offered a private court for Kobe to practice his shots that was very nearby just a few steps away, with no reporters, no cameras, nobody around.. But he wanted the attention because he's a pathetic whore

Quote:
Point worth noting: Heat did have private practice court for Kobe, which would have inconvenienced far fewer working at arena.

Attention whore.

I gave you a link when I posted to you the answer I found to your question, and in return, im called a stan. making excuses?

Why is there no way to talk to each other, find links, answer questions without constant backstabbing?

selfish for wanting to shoot better, maybe working off steam?

Selfish for collecting championships maybe?

There is no way for Kobe to be respected by a hater. Im sure he doesnt care anyway.

If he is selfish for collecting championships, then he shouldn't skip practice. Simple.

Your missing the point on everything, how embarassing for you.

He should be working on his passing, and being involved in every practice, what a big baby Kobe is. Not to mention his teammates are getting tired of this selfish attitude and fake heroism...

Collecting championships? That's all well and good, except for the fact its on the back of great players around him bailing him out when he goes into chuck mode...We all know how well Kobe went with no Gasol or shaq.

DALLAS -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant didn't know that a guy shooting alone in an empty gym could generate so much attention when he went back out to the court in Miami following the Lakers' loss to the Heat on Thursday.

"I'm surprised, yeah, I am," Bryant said Saturday after the Lakers' shootaround in preparation for the Dallas Mavericks when asked about the media blitz his postgame shooting session created. "What are you supposed to do? It's our job. Do you get surprised when baseball players stay after the game and work on their hitting? We do the same thing before the game. I get here early before a game and shoot before a game, that I did it after and it's such a big deal it's ... I don't know."

Bryant and the rest of the starters were given the day off practice Friday in Dallas, the day after his late-night shooting display. The Mavericks will find out if the extra practice Bryant scheduled for himself ended up overexerting the 15-year veteran or if it served as a proper tune-up as Bryant had intended.
