Some more news:

LOTR fans pay attention.

Quote:
The highly-awaited extended version of The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy hasn't been formally announced yet, but it definitely is coming closer, as it just came up for preorder. List price is set at $119.98 (current Amazon price is $83.99). Reportedly, this limited deluxe set will include nine special features DVDs with "over 26 hours of spellbinding behind-the-moviemaking material including the rare Costa Botes documentaries."

Release date is not fixed yet; Amazon cautiously alerts that it may come out in 2011 or even 2012.

Quote:
The Bologna Cinematheque, through its prestigious L'Immagine Ritrovata laboratory, is going to fully restore Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in America and add 40 minutes of original footage to its 229-minute running time. There is no information about a Blu-ray release, in Italy or elsewhere.

This extended version, commissioned after Leone's children acquired Italian rights to the film, is being supervised by the film's original sound editor and will be screened in 2012 at film festivals and possibly in theaters.

Once Upon a Time in America was released on Blu-ray two months ago.

True Grit coming out on June 7th.

Worst part is, I just lost probably 30 BluRays in my external hard drive crash... F#cking SeaGate.

But, yeah... I have a really hard time watching standard definition movies these days. If I can get something in HD or BluRay, I almost always will.

We are including downloaded BluRays in this, right? Because, if we are only counting store-bought BluRays with the packaging and all, my collection would be... I think two... No Country for Old Men and Inglorious Bastards.

I only listed the physical copies I have, but I also have a bunch on my hard drive. Doesn't really matter to me, list whatever.

Yeah, I thought this thread was specifically about physical Bluray movie discs...not downloaded MKVs or what have you. Otherwise I would have already posted my list which is just as big as yours if not bigger. Sorry about the crash by the way, that always hurts.

I have a collection of over 150 movies on DVD. Unfortunately I'm a quality snob now and can't watch them anymore. On an HDTV they look too washed out and grainy and it bugs the hell out of me.

Blade runner
Batman Begins
Casino Royale
The bourne trilogy I own already on DVD

What kind of crash is it?

And listing the digital versions is kind of iffy, because usually they're just the movies and not the entire BD's. Most BD's have several versions of the movie, plus a heap of extras. They're like 50 gigs if you can find them online.

I've had this Seagate 2TB external drive for probably about two months. A couple of weeks ago, I took it home with me when I visited my parents and they wanted me to hook them up with some movies. It must have gotten knocked around or something, because it just flat-out refuses to load up and it immediately slows my computer to a halt when it is connected.

I'm going to get a new one through my warranty, but it appears as though the data is unable to be retrieved. Luckily, I only had the thing for a couple of months, so I didn't have the bulk of my movies/music on it.

Still... It sucks.

It's just movies on it? Otherwise I'd say call a data recovery company.
