Movies and music. I talked to Seagate about data recovery. They said that their rates START at $700 for data recovery.

I mean, all in all, it wasn't THAT bad... Only two months of downloads. I'm not trying to spend hundreds of dollars on what I can get back in a matter of weeks with a new device. Now, if my other hard-drive had crashed, as well, I would be f#cked... Because I have my music backed up on it.

I have HDMI ports in my mother board and video card. I plug those directly into the TV. The video quality is perfect.

You really don't have to go through them, but like you said, there wasn't very important stuff on there, so it doesn't matter.

However in the future, I would never go through the company, because they charge you like that. What if it was simple mechanical failure? That's not close to $700 in labor, let alone half that.

Haven't converted to Blue Ray yet and wont for another few years. I just built my DVD collection up, now they want us to switch.

VHS has been out, what since the late 70 and DVD didn't really become hot until what 2000. Now, they want us to convert after less than 10 years of the DVD being n the market.

well keep in mind you can watch dvds on a blu ray player. and if you don't have a hdtv, you might as well get it over with and get one already.

do you really notice much difference? honestly? i watch dvd's in my blu ray player ona 42 inch hd plasma, it is suposse to "upscale" to 720 but i think thats bullshit, that would involve creating pixels that arent there. but the quality is very good. im yet to even watch a blu ray disc in my blu ray player, i really cant justify tripple the price or more for a blu ray when the picture quality is so damn good anyway. im keen to see something just to compare tho.

I've never bought a Blu Ray disc that wasn't on sale. I always go to Best Buy and see if they have any good ones on sale. Every single one I have was bought for $19.99.

triple? blu rays are about the same price as dvd's when they first came out

and search amazon, there's blu rays that are between $5 and $10, hundreds of them

how can you question difference if you haven't even watched a blu ray yet? just saying
