You could say for the first part of this statement I was one of those "stat nerds," but after I saw him play I still liked him. Yeah, he's not a highlight guy like LeBron who will cross you or dunk on people a lot, but he's still one of the leagues top players as of now. It's not like a dunk is worth more points than a jumper, and as long as Durant keeps putting up impressive stat lines he still deserves to be talked about as one of the leagues best.
Anything that can be said about the hype has seem to been said on here already. He dropped from the MVP race cause Westbrook stepped up his game and Blake Griffin is a rising young star, and with hype for Griffin it makes for less time to hype Durant.
