From the 2010 season. And it's not one of his 2 best defensive seasons. If you look deeply into his body of work in every season he deserves 3 ALL NBA defensive 1st teams. He's only been on defensive 2nd teams which is a joke. It's a popularity contest not about skill.
and forget about the fact that he is the all time leader when it comes to blocks per game average for guards.

I agree i still dont think that LeBron james is a better player than Wade. Outside of passing and 3pt shooting Dwyane wade trumps LeBron in everything especially in heart and leadership. The Media tells us james is better and he's most valuable. This imo has yet to be seen visibily i dont see James do anything extra for that heat team Wade doesn't do. Wade is the best on ball defender on the team and he's their best shot block not named anthony. he's just as good a rebounder as James and He has a better post up game and mid range game than James.

The Heat were 2nd defensively for points allowed (94.2).
The Heat were 2nd defensively for opponent FG% (43.9%)
They were 3rd for opponent points in the paint (37.0)
5th for opponent 3 point % (34.2%)
4th in blocks (5.6)
And defensively the Heat were 3rd in the league for fast break points against (11.4)
They played at the 3rd slowest pace in the league, they were 6th in defensive rating which is points allowed per 100 possessions, a far more accurate way of ranking a team defensively.
And as far as the question of this thread, you could choose either Wade or Howard and I wouldn't argue, though I think Dwight has been better this season. We'll have to see what they do in the playoffs.

I don't totally buy into that formula. When the FG% against is much higher for both interior and perimeter D combined then the D is better than the pace suggests.
You can't be high on both unless your rotating defense is doing exceptionally well. And the defenders are doing a great job.

Why not? It's easily the most accurate statistic for judging a team's defense because it factors in everything such as how well they guard the 3 point line, how much they foul and how well they defend the point. This is because the statistic is very simple, but obvious, it's just who allows the fewest points per possession. How much more accurate can you get than that?
Tell me how well D-Wade could have done with Jameer, Lewis, Turkoglu, Gortat and a better coach. Dwight wouldn't do scrap with Arroyo, Q-Rich, Beasley and Jermaine O'Neal. Wade could have easily led that team through the ECF to the Finals.

Dwight did lead that team to the finals in '09, except they didn't have Nelson and Dwight is easily a better player now than he was in '09.

Tell me what Wade can do with this magic teams?
The flipside of their current W-L?
