Re: Without Kobe Bryant in the lineup, the Lakers would be ________.
They will be title contenders 20 more FGA for bynum and gasol. Without kobe the laker bigs would be used to their maximum potential. They will have fisher to knock down clutch shots. Fisher doesn't disappear in crunch time during the playoffs.

oh wait...that's the Bull's without Jordan...
Lakers - Kobe = 35 - 40 wins get swept in the first round. (Gasol never won a playoff game before L.A...Odom with Wade barely beat a BDiddy led Hornets team)
You Stans constantly peddle this story like the Bulls were just 1 call away from winning the championship or something.
Fact:
Bulls with Jordan: Championship
Bulls without Jordan: No Championship

This is just ridiculous.
Why was this thread created? NOTHING good can come from threads like this.

Get over it.
Fact:
Chicago without Pippen: 10 straight years without a winning season (above .500) from 1978-1987. 6 years without a winning a playoff series.
Chicago with Pippen: Never had a losing season (below .500) from 1988-1998, 6 championships and never failed to win a playoff series. The only exception is 2003-04 when he only played 23 games.
Re: Without Kobe Bryant in the lineup, the Lakers would be ________.
They won 57 last year and on pace to win 58 this year.. I think they would win 48-52. Getting out of the first round doubtful as they wouldn't have homecourt and would be playing Dallas or OKC. It depends on how well Artest and Shannon step up with more shots available, how well they facilitate the offense through the bigs etc. Shannon can be a true chucker and I would have worries about giving him starter minutes.

Fact:
Regular Season MVPs:
Jordan:5
Pippen:0
NBA Finals MVPs:
Jordan:6
Pippen:0
And on and on..... But I won't drag Pip's legacy into a bitter Stan debate.

My post was best case scenario (peak). I could definitely see them getting past the first round (and yes I think they can still beat OKC without Kobe--last year he played his worst series in 3 years and they still won in 6).
