Give Kobe Dirk's teammates and they don't even make the playoffs and Kobe demands a trade
Kobe dragged Luke Walton, Brian Shaw, Smush Parker, Chris Mihm to the playoffs but he can't win with Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Roddy, Marion, Caron butler etc.
ur lack of bball knowledge is frightening

but the PF's your comparing him too are some of the best PF's to play the game. I'd be hard pressed to find anyone to say Dirk is deserving of being part of that discussion.
That being said, I think you could still build a team around a player who isn't a superstar like that. I would say before the 'Melo trade the Knicks were built around Amar'e, and they're a playoff team. You could say that Houston was built around Yao Ming, and he's not one of the best centers to play the game, and a similar situation with Dwight Howard and the Magic.
