And he was juicing in the first fight do I give him no credit for it. So basically your argument comes down to the fact that he was able to take Andy down and hold him down in the first round of their second fight but he still couldn't do any damage.

like it or not, MMA needs feuds as in pro wrestling in order to connect with fans and make the business grow, and this guy is perfect for all that. i love how he had the cajones to volunteer to get demolished by jones, and later tweeted that "i'm the new LHW belt-holder since jones ducked me." absolutely perfect.

To be clear, no one actually thinks jones ducked chael right? Jones last 4 fights had been shogun, machida, rampage and rashad. Add Henderson who he signed to fight and that's the next 5 best lhws in the world in about 18 months. If anyone has earned the right to be free from ducking allegations it's him.

Btw does the fact that the Henderson injury occurred three weeks ago(right around the time chael started shit talking jbj) change anyones opinion. There is no chance chael didn't know about it. They set this up and I guarantee you that he's been training for it. At this point the blame goes Dana, Henderson, chael, jbj in that order.

i would have to throw myself in the same boat as ~50% of MMA fans and seemingly 75% of MMA fighters in saying that yes, i absolutely think that jones ducked chael. but like the case you've made across many posts i also agree with you that yes, in a perfect world, jones had every right to turn down the fight with zero repercussions.

in a perfect world, jones' decision was not connected in any way to the rest of the card, the huge amounts of time and money that his fellow fighters spent training, dana white's asshole dictator routine, the wants of the fans or anything else.

but the bottom line for me is this: the dude single-handedly had a chance to do everyone a favor, stand by his previous words, and destroy MMA's biggest loudmouth while looking like the golden boy. all this would have greatly helped to wash the taste out of many of our mouths regarding his previous actions and poorly-chosen words the last few months or so.

anyway, he's a big boy. he's made his choice and now he has to live with it. he's reaping what he sowed. whether he learns anything from the experience, we'll see. he probably needs a humbling or an ass-kicking in order for me to go back to being a supporter. i expect, when he goes HW in a year or to.

He didnt "Duck" him.I really hate when people just throw that word around BUT he avoided that fight even though he said we would never turn down a fight. Why didnt he fight him now?

And whats this about Chael knowing henderson was hurt 3 weeks ago?Dana didnt call him to see if want the fight until yesterday.Chael has been talking about Jones since before he even lost to Anderson the second time.

ya, i don't tend to believe that either. if the card was that imminent in getting pulled, i don't think ufc waits two weeks to notify all parties. they have hendo checked out right away. chael found out about hendo's injury before other fighters and media did? dana secretly met up with chael to prepare him for a fight? then concocted the idea to spring it on jones 9 days before the PPV? that's quite the conspiracy theory.

chael went after jones simply because he's champ and has succeeded in talking himself into the title fights and selling the fight with sound bytes along the way. it's nothing more and nothing less. when he started talking smack is coincidental.

oh and belfort is looking ripped again:

They still have fights. It's not like those guys will never fight again. They're just delayed.

hey, let's be serious. tell that to their landlords and bill-collectors who want their money NOW. you know how that kind of thing goes in RL?

many of these mid-tier and lower-tier UFC guys have gone all-in for the sport. they train their asses off like few in any sport do and don't have remotely the kinds of guaranteed contracts and insurance that many others do. for most of them, they budget absolutely everything around a scheduled card, and the unseen dreadful elephant in the room is typically the issue of whetherr or not they have the terrible luck to get injured on their way to fight night. notwithstanding the fact that DFW always expects them to go hard and entertain the fans or ELSE. but dude, having a whole card canceled goes beyond any of that... it's unprecedented in UFC history and is a terrible blow for many of the individual fighters for many reasons, most of which revolve around budgeting money in a timely fashion. do you know what i mean?

anyway, these things tend to be the primary reasons why so many UFC fighters are pissed at jones right now. it's not some kind of mystery IME, but it's how people feel.

oh and BTW, re: your previous comments about edgar and fedor and all--

granted, i'll give you and brendo the first fight and i probably misspoke about that, so my apologies. on the other hand, i sincerely don't know what you're smoking to think that bendo came off better in the rematch if you're going by the body of people who actually watched the fight. starting with the UFC broadcast team to EVERY SINGLE fight coverage org i checked, from ESPN, BE, MMF, MMJ and anyone and everyone in-between, the body of experts and fellow fighters thought that EDGAR WON THE FIGHT, albeit very closely. i'll certify that as a fact as much as anything that you might ever ask me to guarantee. so i have absolutely no idea what data you're looking at, other than one fight-metric site in particular, i.e. fightmetric.com. which as i've pointed out to you before, is NOT the godfather of fight metric sites. which is also kind of irrelevant in this case, since the blows did come down to being virtually equal no matter what the stat site.

re: the fedor criticism,
after a certain point it's hard to know what a person is aiming for sometimes. i'm talking about you, here. i mean, one thing i've noticed is that a poster can agree with you 99% and yet you'll frequently jump in to point out the most microscopic of differences between the two of you. seriously, you seem to relish nitpicking the most trivial of differences, building these weird, elaborate posts in which you quote people sentence by sentence, paragraph by paragraph, laboriously pointing out every single way in which that person is wrong and you're right.

so in the end, what is the point of debating anything with you? you're so fixated on telling people that they're wrong about something, anything, that it all tends to become irrelevant. so we're sitting here debating about how badly fedor lost the bigfoot fight.... was it by an inch? was it by a mile? doesn't some part of you concede the fact that there was a pattern going on? don't you get the idea that it was probably fedor's worst loss, ever, or can you go beyond your love of nitpicking and actually find one which was worse?

hey, jackass... don't get me wrong. you are definitely someone who knows their MMA shit in many ways and is definitely smarter than i am about certain MMA stuff. but i seriously don't get how and why you love to argue so much sometimes over the most microscopic of differences. it just gets kind of ridiculous sometimes IMO.

not only do the fighters lose out a on a paycheck, but so do their respective camps. sparring partners, boxing coaches, wrestling coaches, trainers, nutritionists, etc. they all rely on a certain % of the fighter's purse. they've all spent weeks, waking up early and preparing just to have everything delayed. it's a whole domino effect with hundreds affected and that's just on the fighting side.
