This is why I laugh when people say Jones wouldn't do well at HW, these guys are one dimensional and gas after 1-2 rounds. A lean, fast 240 pound Jones would just outstrike them for 2 rounds, wait til they gas, takedown+submission or TKO from elbows. He has outstruck WAY faster fighters in Machida/Rashad, these heavyweights lack the cardio and quickness to beat Jones. Only Overreem would be a problem.

Jones fight IQ and versatility is on another level.

I had a feeling Cain would win the rematch but not like this. This was an absolute beatdown. Can't wait for the rubber match...

The huge overhand right in the first round was what did JDS in, but he willed himself to the end so huge props on that. Huge props to Cain who dominated one of the most dangerous men in MMA.

BTW what a shitty fvcking crowd that was, they actually booed JDS during his postfight interview...

At least now we know Overeem probably would have merked JDS.

Cain vs Ubereem is the fight to make. Let JDS beat Cormier/Werdum before he gets another shot.

wow, just wow...

well, junior did not come out crisply at all. i think he was expecting the onslaught from cain and went in to a more defensive mode early. if he had just fenced in and out with the bombs as usual, i can't help feeling that he would have been better served.

but great heart and resilience and second wind by junior. i thought for sure he was finished a couple times.

cain, i was a little surprised to see how tired he got by the end. but working for all those takedowns is obviously exhausting.

anyway...

¡¡¡CAIN VELASQUEZ!!!

That 1 punch changed everything. Took out everything from JDS but his heart. Hot damn what a fight.

He didn't gas out. THOSE PUNCHES FROM VELASQUEZ TOOK OUT HIS ENERGY.

JDS was staggered at the end of round 1 when he stood back up.

And I think Cain didn't wanna finish him early. I think he wanted to punish him for a bit.

GREAT FIGHT.

& Joe Lauzon +1 for heart.

Yeah, it pisses me off when people call some of the fighters pvssy or say they suck.
