There. $20 for 23 hours worth of the biggest/most important fights in UFC history. Granted some are debatable, but that'll get you up to speed on the sport and some of the bigger names in history.

Other than that though, it depends on what you value in a fighter. Do you just wanna cheer for the best? Cheer for the underdogs? Cheer for the classy/professional guys? The goofy/weird guys? Once you figure out what kinda fighter you like, you'll find your favorites a lot easier.

That, and also do you have Fuel TV? They show old UFC events, UFC Unleashed which shows a bunch of great fights, and Best of Pride which shows a bunch of great fights from Pride.

what's even more dumb is they allow it on the amateur level, which has far less safety controls and experience doing it.

you can never expect logical decision making and reason from narrow minded old school kunts who have their own agendas and own motives for their idiocy.

It's not even about how loose it was. It was about Silva's position in relation to the hook that caused his head to turn so violently. Only thing stopping Silva's head from doing a 180 was his neck holding on to it.

NYS is pretty much acting as expected, i reckon.

last i saw, dana was doing an interview about a month ago trying to whip up sentiment against the culinary union, which seems to hold the key to that situation over the anti-fertitas casino thing. same way he tries to whip up sentiment against keith kizer and the nevada athletic commision, for example trying to get maserati blocked from the UFC over the fitch - burkman decision. i mean, regardless of what you think about the lateness of the call, those in positions of authority don't tend to welcome being shamed / battled in public. dana just doesn't seem to get this.

boxing is as much a scam as it is a sport, but those promoters know how to get it done. back-room deals... payoffs... flowery words of bullshit praise... whatever it takes.

a week or two ago there was an interesting article written by a sports doctor talking about how shots that turn the head (i.e. from the side) have greater impact than shots from straight-on, especially if a fighter has strong neck muscles.

Soon as Silva started to become overconfident and underestimate his opponents some year/years ago (showboating, toying, putting his arms down and dodging thinking he is in the matrix or something) i knew it was just a matter of time before some scrub would hit the button....

so now weidman is a 'scrub'?

listen, people have tagged silva plenty. no one's KO'd him so that's worth something. this was not a TKO. his eyes rolled back, he sat down and tried to grab the ref's leg. he was out.

this wasn't a definitive win for CW but still a historic one. andy's been doing this for years really and weidman didn't didn't let get to his head or become mesmerized by the movement. weidman has all the tools to make a respectful run as champ. of course, he get KO'd by belfort down the line and that's the nature of the sport. if belfort connects, he can put down just about anybody.

Maybe Jones should somehow cut to MW and get that belt, Weidman or Belfort would be cakewalk even for skeletor Jones. Then he can move up to HW and get the HW belt after he goes on horsemeat diet.
