And I don't know if anyone else posted it but Faber vs Michael McDonald is booked for the next Fox card December

All that brat-act is all coming from her hating losing. I don't think anyone likes to lose, but for Ronda -- it's a different thing for her, she just really doesn't like to lose. She said back when she first started Judo, guys would beat her up in the gym & she goes home crying just cuz she's frustrated in herself. But what can you do, that's her. She did over-react though, Miesha was just happy that her girl won.

Clearly Julianna was winning standing up. If Shayna took the fight to the ground, the outcome would have been different. God, how dumb can she be?

very good points IMO.

the main thing that matters in fighting is just to win. you can be -whatever- kind of person you happen to be, but if it translates in to the win it's all good.

the main thing of TUF is to be a likeable, sensible person and a good coach. those things don't necessarily have the slightest thing to do with being a good fighter.

i've never been a ronda fan, but i don't like to see people being humiliated, either. she needs to grow up a bit and that's fine, but she doesn't need to be portrayed as an ass on national TV. dana and ronda's handlers should have known better.

dana is such a f--king idiot, sometimes. on the one hand, the health of the entire UFC women's division is hanging on rousey's star-power. OTOH, he does need to prop up TUF during its struggle for viewers. but what he's done here is basically to band-aid one situation while damaging another. that's just not smart IMO.

and when people call him out on this stuff (twitter / media interviewers / other) he pretty much just turns into a bully, tosses f-bombs around, plays one-upsmanship, and looks to intimidate the person asking the question.

UFC 165: By the numbers
By Andrew R. Davis

Jon Jones will look to make history by becoming the all-time leader in UFC light heavyweight title defenses with six. He’ll face Alexander Gustafsson, who is 15-1 and ranked second in ESPN.com’s light heavyweight rankings behind Jones. In the co-main event, interim UFC bantamweight titleholder Renan Barao defends against Eddie Wineland.

Here are the numbers you need to know for the fights:

5: UFC light heavyweight title defenses for Jones, tied with Tito Ortiz, who defended the title from 2000 to 2002. In four of Jones’ five title defenses, he defeated a former UFC champion. Chael Sonnen, Jones’ most recent opponent, challenged for the UFC light heavyweight title for the first time, as Gustafsson will do Saturday night.

1: Career losses by each fighter. Jones lost by disqualification to Matt Hamill in December 2009 due to “12-to-6” elbows. At the time of the DQ, Jones was in top position and held a 44-5 advantage in significant strikes. Gustafsson was defeated by Phil Davis in April 2010 by anaconda choke. Gustafsson was 0-for-5 in significant strikes while Davis landed 14 and a takedown.

13: Gustafsson fights that have not gone to the judges (12-1 record). The last two fights for “The Mauler” have gone to a decision (Mauricio Rua, Thiago Silva), which Gustafsson won unanimously.

6: Takedowns for Gustafsson in his last fight against Rua. In 8 UFC fights, Gustafsson has 10 takedowns. Jones has never been taken down in his UFC career (0 for 16). Sonnen did not attempt a takedown against Jones in their UFC 159 bout.

26: Consecutive rounds that Jones has held the significant striking advantage. The last round Jones was outstruck with significant strikes came in January 2009 against Stephan Bonnar.

0: There has never been a Swedish UFC champion. In fact, Gustafsson is the first Swede to fight for a UFC title as well as the first Scandinavian fighter (Sweden, Denmark and Norway).

3: Common opponents between Jones and Gustafsson. Both men have fought Hamill (Jones lost by DQ, Gustafsson won by KO/TKO), Vladimir Matyushenko (both won by KO/TKO), and Rua (Jones won by KO/TKO, Gustafsson won by unanimous decision).

3.9: Significant strikes per minute landed by each fighter. The difference lies in the accuracy of those strikes with Jones landing 53 percent to Gustafsson’s 36 percent.

8: Jones (84.5-inch wingspan) will have an 8-inch reach advantage over Gustafsson (76.5-inch wingspan). Gustafsson faced Cyrille Diabate (81-inch wingspan) in 2010, outstriking the Frenchman 28-11 while securing three takedowns en route to a submission victory.

2: Jones has an undefeated record inside Air Canada Centre, the Toronto arena that will host UFC 165. In December 2010, Jones made his second title defense against Lyoto Machida, choking him out in the second round. “Bones” would return to Toronto in September 2012, defending his title against Vitor Belfort with a fourth-round submission.

13: There have been 13 title fights in UFC history to take place in Canada. Of those 13, two saw the champion dethroned (Machida at UFC 113, Matt Serra at UFC 83). Along with Jones’ two title defenses, Renan Barao won his interim UFC bantamweight title against Urijah Faber at UFC 149 in Calgary.

14: Submission victories for Barao, including four in WEC/UFC fights. Nine of his victories are by choke and in his last fight, Barao defeated Michael McDonald by arm-triangle choke. Wineland has been submitted four times in his career, but not since 2009.

31.5: Wineland’s average significant strike percent landed in his last two victories. Wineland landed 31 percent against Brad Pickett, outstriking the Brit 90-67 in a split decision victory last December. Against Scott Jorgensen, Wineland landed 32 percent of his significant strikes, finishing the fight with a KO/TKO and a 61-48 advantage.

I hope Gustafsson knocks Jones the eff out. I'm sick of his fake humbleness, introverted cockiness, etc... His whole demeanor.
Reminds me somewhat of Kevin Durant, just a whole lot worse.

If you watch his early interviews he seems normal, the fake humbleness and cockiness thing is blown way out of proportion though. ANd mostly it came after he blew up when he got the title. He never disrespected any of his opponents, he even accepted his DQ "loss" and admitted his mistake instead of bitching like lot of other fighters would. He didn't even talk that much before.

But now people just hate how he expresses his thoughts and they just happen to be facts as well. When he says how he is superior to his opponents and how they lack certain aspects in their game to beat him everyone cries "too much ****", but then all the writers and analysts say the same thing about his dominance and unstoppable aura. Then there are his awkward moments that are taken too seriously.

The real fake humbleness would be him talking like GSP and saying "Yea this will be a tough fight, "......" is a great fighter and will test me. I will definitely not elbow the shit outta him and leave his corpse on the floor".

In this video I would say we see the "real" Chael and Jones, without their act and character roles.

I'm talking about stuff in the ring as well.

That crouching toward the opponent shit, flipping Rampage at the end of the round after getting underneath him, etc. His whole vibe comes off as full of himself.

I don't mind talking about opponents weaknesses and what not. It just seems as if he wants to be liked and doesn't want to go full blown, cocky superstar. I'd much prefer he did that.

I actually liked him at the start, before he got the belt, and was telling most of my friends that he'll be the guy to shit on everyone in the division. Now that hes there though, meh. Hes trying too hard.
Wanna see somebody beat the bricks off him.

Yea i know what you mean, I think he is actually too sensitive, he lets all the criticism to get to him on twitter and whatnot so he tries to be nicer and more humble but it just comes off as fake and backfires. He should just say **** it and be like his old silent killer self. He shouldn't give a shit what people think.
