what do you guys think of gunnar? his style is a bit one dimensional in that he needs to become a better counter puncher w/ that approach. also, throw in some damn leg kicks. i can see him breaking into the top 10 but i don't see him really going further than that. it doesn't help when he fights in such a murderous row of a division. on the ground though, he's a monster.
as far as mcgregor, they need to put him against a top 10 guy immediately. he's probably 2-3 fights away before a title shot, but let's get this ball rolling. i can see why he's considered such an exciting fighter. that said, he's a bit reckless and that could cost him. one of his biggest advantages though is his natural size and reach. he hasn't missed a weight cut, has all that energy and he just dwarfed brandao in that fight. he has a fairly unique frame for that division. dude sort of reminds me of pettis. he just needs to refine the technical skills.
as of today, do i take him over aldo, swanson or even edgar? hell no, but i see the intrigue.

sounded like a great card... i only caught highlights because i wasn't around at the time. the irish crowds sound pretty amazing, so i hope they hold more events there. would be great if the UFC (or whoever) could lend some kind of hand developing fighters in ireland, since they're such natural brawlers.
i'll prolly watch the main event one of these days. one thing i didn't know about conor is that he was a national boxing champ and also simultaneous LW and FW champ in another MMA org.
Poirier is one of the most exciting fighters in UFC, dude goes ham every bout. That fight vs Korean Zombie was one of the best I ever seen. His last 2 matches both TKO wins and one of them fight of the night. I expect fireworks vs Mcgregor, may even be better than Jones/Gus 2.
What's with all these injuries days/weeks before a big fight, I swear this shit happens so often in UFC. If you know you are close to a life changing bout, try to be more careful and not go too hard in training and end up ****ing yourself over.
