Jones said before he walks around at 220-225. He is a natural LWH. The HW division is completely different from the rest, it's not just 10-15 pounds, most HWs are 240-270. They have the least limits out of all divisons, Jones would basically be moving up 3 divisions, that's like asking Aldo to fight Weidman.
i see your point but i think you're over-estimating the effect.
most HW's with a combat weight under 265 barely have to worry about the upward limit. that's an incredible luxury that the other weight classes have little or no idea about. the two champions cain and werdum are WELL under 265 combat weight, so it's a hardship that doesn't have the smallest hold on them. it's only the reems / lesnars / nelsons / bigfoot that have to stress and struggle like the rest.
i've gotten over the fact that jones is a huge a-hole and gamer of the system. he's also that guy with subpar KO power who brilliantly humiliates people... the legend of his division and potential UFC GOAT even at his young age.
but, the steroids. a titanic issue that must be cleared up before the GOAT issue can ever be properly discussed. across all of the divisions.
warrior spirit. This is what MMA is all about. My respect for both guys grew after yesterdays fight. (sorry 56kbps users for the gif)
Skillwise they were pretty much on par to my eyes. Benson had BESTest! cardio bueno !
I can see Rousey retiring as an undefeated champion now.
now? took you this long? there comes a point when you stop making excuses for her opponents and just start realizing how superb her grappling, general strength and balance is. i was convinced after her mcmann assault. she's now won her last three fights in 96 seconds...and her striking improves in the meantime.
that was a horrible gameplan by cat though. i know she wants to avoid starting slow but charging ronda isn't the smartest thing. it's what caught meisha as well in a clinch. i don't see anyone touching her in that division. holm has striking ability but is too tentative and had to go to a decision vs. a barely top 15 fighter. ronda would hip toss holm and it would be game over. she owns that division and everyone else is fighting for second best

Rousey hasn't face Cyborg Santos or Gina Carano yet. But yeah I don't think anyone would believe either have a good chance against her at this point. Maybe there is one in the next 5 years.
I don't really understand her last 3 opponents' game plans though when you almost guarantee Rousey is gonna jump at you right off.
