Yeah, I heard about the issues, I was worried this was something new and Reem had officially pulled out.

Mir Lesnar 3 is the last thing in the world I want to see.

seriously.

i'm seeing all these post-fight articles about mir, talking about how he deserves a title shot or an eliminator, and i just don't see it. not yet, anyway.

mir is a very good fighter and an expert at certain things, but too often he fails to impress. he basically did one thing right in the big nog fight, and that was to seize the gift-wrapped opportunity to find a superior position on the ground. he certainly didn't impress on his feet and breaking nog's arm is something any good HW can do if the opponent refuses to tap.

i'd rather see barnett, possibly cormier, werdum (if he promised to fight like a man) ahead of the line in front of mir.

cormier and werdum at least have the potential to be champ. it may not be a huge chance, but it's there. mir, by contrast, is a likely KO victim to the top HW's.

not coincidentally, those three fighters would all make more interesting matchups than mir would. many fighters would, actually, like bigfoot silva, carwin, nelson... even an aging fedor would be more interesting than frank mir.

so that's pretty-much it: no real threat to be champ, and a pretty boring fighter to watch. not a real good combination. not that i don't respect mir, but that's a different issue.

for anyone who remembers don frye, the guy who had that insane, endless skull-punching session with takayama around ten years ago, he just fought again at age 46. and looked dreadful, unfortunately. got KTFO in a minute:

u all are just mir haters....that fight was so brief and all Nog did was get 1 flurry in with a good connect which can happen to anybody, and its like all of u are trying to take away from Mir subbing him because so many of u play favorites werdum is WAY worse than mir, that fool just falls down on purpose and won't even try to standup....if anything Mir gets a bad rap for being so physically outmatched vs Lesnar. thats the only fight where he looked bush league, otherwise Mir is just as good as any of the names u mentioned. people hate on him so much too acting like Mir is some ahole which isn't even true either. Mir is a beast as long as he's not fighting people way bigger than he is

I think Mir is very good but is on or off he has very good aggressive BJJ and as you said is deadly, I just think he doesnt take getting hit in the face very well, all his 5 loses were TKO's and all the good top HW's are hard punchers JDS, CAIN and Overeem, Mir also doesnt have good takedowns to bring the battle to the ground, but he has decent striking and can beat anyone its just that sometimes he is hard to read as a fighter

regarding that, there was an interesting article that came out yesterday about how mir has supernatural calm. a calm which sometimes helps him and sometimes hurts him.

on the ground he's like a relentless computer, analysing everything and coming up with the exact right response. on his feet he frequently lacks urgency, which puts him at great risk against strikers.

I can totally see that. He even admitted so after the Noguiera fight. It seemed like he was totally caught off-guard by Carwin's power too.

Werdum fighting Roy Nelson at UFC 143. Solid fight. I'd like to see Roy continue to get into better shape and stick around.

WTF are you rambling about this time? Anybody who watched the fight saw that Nog could have won no problems if he made Mir stand up or just didn't completely lose his mind.

If we're going to judge fighters on just 1 fight, then how about Mir vs. Vera?

LOL, he got destroyed by Vera in a minute, and Vera is mediocre LHW.

Hold on there buddy.... MIR VS VERA WAS YEARSSS AGO and Mir was just messed up, He was still tryna get back into shape.. the first 3 fights after the incident even the one in the middle he won against dan christison were horrendous.
Then he faced Brock which he was slightly in-shape ... it was ok.... but damn,
Mir vs Vera is a whole different story... your maybe gonna point out, chin has nothing to do with cardio.... well, all I gotta say is, see for yourself :)

Uh uh, just conveniently pick when Mir was good to fight. The fact of the matter is if he wasn't ready to go, then he shouldn't have fought. The Vera fight was 2 years after the bike accident. I wouldn't take Mir's first win over Nog away just because Nog wasn't healthy and shouldn't have taken that fight. If you want a more recent fight, then Mir didn't look good against an over-the-hill Cro Cop, who is a small HW. He weighed in the same as Carwin (265) and Nelson (260); another fight he didn't look that good in.

Considering he is unable to work and he has medical bills to pay due to the accident. I dont think he had much of a choice. Its not that simples my dude.
