I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks this will be an easy win for GSP.
I keep thinking i'm crazy for thinking this is an easy win because there is so much hype for Nick Diaz now and I realize he is a good fighter but when I took a good look at his record I realized it's not very impressive. I mean seriously, what are this guys most notable wins? Scott Smith, Robbie Lawler? Evangalista Santos, give me a break, I'd have been more impressed if he had beaten his wife Cyborg.
He doesn't smash people? He smashed Serra, Penn, Fitch, tossed Alves around despite tearing his groin, dominated Hardy and he beat Koscheck so badly that Koscheck is still unable to fight.
I agree, he was dominant in thos fights. And in the Hardy fight there were 2 points when GSP had Hardy in submissions that most people would have tapped from and becuase GSP is a nice guy he let them go other than break the dude's arm. You can call that a fault if you want, or smart by just realizing you may be wasting all your energy on a guy who will never tap.
Damn. Pettis had his one big shot when he got Guida's back there in the 3rd. I was really hoping he would get a sub there but looks like Guida will take the decision. I don't mind Guida but I don't think he's a serious contender for the title.
Great fight though. This is exactly the type of non-title fight that I wish could go 5 rounds.
I don't normally complain about lay n pray, and I think the term gets overused, but that was pure LnP by Guida. He literally did nothing after the take downs except those little shoulder strikes. He looked scared of getting tapped more than anything and was just milking clock. Sad. I am glad to see the Pettis hype train die down though.
