It's a bad thing. Regardless of what people say, doing multiple things at once hurts their overall performance in each actual task they're trying to accomplish. I think the whole listening to music while studying is the worst.

It got so bad with me for a while that I began to think I had some sort of latent ADD or something. Just couldn't properly focus on anything. Watching a 90 minute movie would take me six hours because of how often I'd pause it to check this, check that, do this, do that. And then even when I resisted those things my mind still drifted off towards them. I would sometimes waste entire days because rather than doing a few things and finishing them I'd take on way too much stuff and not finish anything. The end of the day would roll around and I'd be like "What did I actually do today? Nothing."

I've gotten a lot better about it but there's still room for improvement.

This happened to me I think two days ago. I started to watch The Borgias On Demand. Then found myself online and texting. Then I had to rewind the show. Then went back to online, texting making something to eat. And had to rewind the show yet again. Finally cut computer off and tossed phone under a pillow to watch the show.

I'm listening to music, online, watching tv. Cant focus on one thing.

*rewinds song cuz its at the end and I didnt get to hear it like I wanted*
