Cal is great at recruiting players at the college level, that quality goes out of the door in the pro's.

I watched a lot of Memphis when Derrick Rose / CDR / Dorsey, those guys played there and last year's Kentucky team with John Wall / Patrick Patterson / Bledsoe / Cousins so I've seen a lot of Calipari.

His offense in the college game relies on penetration. I remember Derrick being down because he missed some close shots in games, Calipari told him that it was a good thing. Since he broke the defense down Shawn Taggart and Joey Dorsey got easy putback opportunities. He relies on breaking defenses down, I don't think we have the players to do that right now.

I say no. Yes as a GM tho. He's great at evaluating players and players like him.

Walsh contract expires April 30.
If his option isn't picked up until then does that mean he is officially gone or there is a way to sign him after April 30 ?

Calipari is the Stan Van Gundy of the NCAA.When his teams get down in a game,he gets frantic.Remember Shaq called Van Gundy the master of panic? Well look at any video showing Calipari when his teams start losing. He's screaming to the top of his lungs and outwardly emotional like it's the end of the world.

As far as him being GM,I like Pritchard better BUT Calipari's aura seems to resonate among popular ppl and players.PPL really like the guy. While some believe it is in unethical ways on the college level, that really doesn't matter all to much in the pros.He may be a magnet for free agents so I wouldnt mind exploring that idea. That being said, you don't leave Kentucky unless you're sure wherever you're going is gonna work out.Thats one of if not THE best job you can get in college basketball.
