The Orlando Magic face the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the 2011 NBA Playoffs.
Discuss the matchup! Strengths of each team, weaknesses, and don't just predict the outcome -- EXPLAIN WHY!
Orlando
-They have the best player in the series
-They have the better coach
-They care more
-They have more depth
-They have better PG's
-They have home court advantage
-They have the better record
Why the Hawks will lose:
-NOBODY had a good year for them.
-They have no depth
-No big men
-No passion for the game
-No post game
-No offense
-They have the lowest team IQ in the league
-No depth
-Don't get the free low line (20 attempts per game? Yikes!)
-They lack confidence
-No home crowd support
-Mediocre defense
dont see why evryone thinks magic will sweep hawks its 3-1 in reg season
6 L's in a row. I'm not sure the Hawks could beat ANY team in the league in a 7 game series right now. Yes, they're that bad right now. They've been one of the worst teams in the entire league since the all star break.

That should cover most of it.
The HAWKS have no depth? WTF? Orlando has NO bigs.
Yea a lot of people bashing the hawks on this site...Coming from an Atlanta born, atlanta native, in atlanta right now and seeing all just about all hawks games this season i will have to say Atlanta is the most underated team in the league...
I mean when they are on and playing defense i think they can beat just about anyone in the league...Matchup by matchup it shouldnt be close...
Heinrich >= Nelson
Johnson >> Richardson
Smith >> Turk
Horford >> Bass
Collin <<<<<< Howard
So as far as complete person comparison the hawks have an edge...I just seen games where Joe and Crawford go off puttin up 20 and then Horford and Josh smith both putting up high double digits...When they play this complete and as a whole team...They are one hard tough to beat...
I say Hawks in 7 with a buzzer beater by Crawford...Book it...

Sayin all the negatives for one team and all the positives for the other team would make your argument seem compelling and correct...
But the magic lives and dies by the 3...
And the hawks have no heart...
Its either going to be one or the other in this series...
The Atlanta Hawks are the worst team in the NBA, I guarantee they lose this series. The problem is that they play in a crappy city with no fan support and the players/personnel don't give a crap either. They will probably win one game on the road and that's it.
The problem is that Dwight is the best player in the series and the Hawk can't guard him. After that, the Hawk's entire defensive integrity is broken and the Magic can go willy nilly from three. Watch for Jason Richardson to post a 35+ point game.
Magic in 5. Atlanta will one of the first two and the Magic will figure them out from there. And that's precisely the problem, all good teams have figured the Hawks out. The element of surprise is no longer there (that one Boston series).
