well, since you know him well and seem to play against him often, you should know where his sweet spots are.

deny him these sweet spots (the spots he should be practicing the most at, and be the most comfortable with) and you will decrease his probability of making his shots and thus, his confidence.

you can't do much if he's just on fire and hitting from everywhere, but make him work to get to the spots he likes.
