i hope he gets more scenes with arya at some point, i thought they worked well together. it is a shame the finale was arya and tyrion light.

remember syrio, arya's "dancing" instructor from Braavos? In season one, he holds off the Lannisters to give Arya a chance to escape. We never see his presumed death onscreen, and it happened the same way in the books.
Then we meet Jaqen, who also happens to be from Braavos, who also helps Arya out. we later find out that Jaqen is a bad ass assassin who can change his appearance.
alot of people have speculated that syrio and jaqen are the same person. it may be wishful thinking, but both characters are fan favorites and it would be cool if that's how it turns out.

That would be cool. Arya mentions Syrio when Jaqen gives her the coin.
(haven't read the books) That's true but if you notice even after he changed his apperance, his voice stayed the same. Of course if he's that kind of warrior he could probably change his voice too. But I love the potential 'Arya going off to be trained as an assassin' bit. Hopefully that somehow develops in the future It's so prevalent in books (Alex Rider, artemis fowl, harry potter) it's about time one of them became a killer instead.

It's baseless speculation, Jaqen is picked up by Yoren from the dungeons after Ned, who was still an undisputed authority, let him take criminals from the dungeons for the wall. There is no way the timeline can be manipulated to allow such change and my stance on this subject has always been that 'Martin should let Syrio have his honorable death as befits a warrior'. Another point is that Syrio used to be the First Sword of Braavos for years which basically eliminates any chance of him being a Faceless man in my opinion.

Well there's no way Cat of the Canals could be Arya Stark. Cat is from Bravos and Arya grew up in Winterfell. Unless..... there was a made up back story somewhere. I agree with you though, I don't think they are the same person.

Yeah that was my least favorite of the series. People here keep saying to re-read it because there's some valuable info there but I could barely get through it once.
I don't know how the book 4 season will go. Perhaps they'll combine books 4 and 5.
