I thought it was a bit necessary. To flesh out the Robb marriage and drop the pregnancy bomb. I think part of it is knowing how few episodes we have left. But there hasn't been much on their relationship so far. I actually really liked the Jon Snow scene, how desperate Ygrette was to believe Jon Snow even when she knew she probably shouldn't. The scene between melissandre and gendry was interesting too. There was indeed a lot of set up here, but I enjoyed it mostly.

The first few seasons were following fewer story lines. I think season one the scenes were, The wall, Kings landing, and across the sea. They've got tons more to cover in the same amount of time now. The problem with abandoning story lines for too long is that people lose interest. Like I saw in the preview they were going back to the onion Knight. I honestly don't even remember where they left that story or why I should care right now.

Might be a repost but here's an interesting video that argues Talisa as a spy for the Lannisters.

Hopefully this is the last "set-up" episode. Probably necessary for all that is about to happen. I did enjoy the gratuitous nudity and Daenerys looked hot in that white dress with the s&m collar.

This season has been boring and a relative letdown. Only great episode to me was the one with Khaleesi taking over that army and the big Nightwatch fight. The few episodes since then specifically have been boring. Last season was much better.

I like the show, but its been pretty overrated to me so far. I feel like most people would disagree with this, but it doesn't come close for me to other HBO shows I've watched like the Wire or Boardwalk Empire but people seem to hype it up to be on that level, in fact Boardwalk Empire doesn't get nearly the amount of hype it seems.

It's interesting that tonight's show was kind of slow and boring considering it's the only episode this season that was written by The Godfather himself, GRRM.

Was also kinda disappointed by the bear fight. Don't they kill the bear in the books?

Not rated the past couple of episodes, but seems like there will be 3 pretty huge episodes to finish though. Sansa and Tyrion getting married, possibly Joffrey and Margaery, Dany's endgame with Yunkai... Episode 9 is the big one though.

agreed with the rest...sloooooow episode but i really like tyrin's scene with king joeffrey as he slowly ascends the stairs to get closer, you can feel the power of tyrin in every step, the scene was executed perfectly. initially by tyrin stopping as he walks in so that the kingsguard stop escorting him. it just demonstrates the power and respect he garners over everyone, including the king and his cast.

I agree (it's Tywin, btw ). Even the way he says "your grace" is condescending.

When Tywin said to Joffrey about carrying him to the meetings in the Tower of the Hand. Treated him like a cripple.
