Im still waiting on the Martells. I expect them to be Lannister good. Doran and the Red Viper at least. I expect them to milk him a bit more than was done in the books. He has some good conversations with Tyrion. And Doran is pretty much undercover patient Tywin.
I'm not sure why they are making him more sympathetic? Stay strong man, keep hating him lol.
the thing that's great about Game of Thrones is that it's very rarely black and white. there are alot of shades of grey. characters that you may hate will get some sympathy once their story or point of view is told. characters that are supposed to be "good guys" pull such stupid shit that you hate them for fukkin shit up.
Nobody mentioning how Beric Dondarrion has died 6 times already, including to The Hound last night?? Thought that would confuse some people in here.
Hate on the Red Woman and followers of Lord of the Light all you want, but they clearly have some power...
this isn't much of a spoiler, but it's explained much better in the book. magic had been on a decline in westeros, to a point that many had stopped believing in supernatural things. the Others have become relegated to fairy tale status, nobody south of the wall really believes they exist anymore. the wizards in the east had resorted to just performing tricks and illusions. after the birth of the dragons however, magic started making a comeback. the wizards started re-gaining powers, the red priests can bring back the dead, wargs, seers, and prophets are becoming more common. maybe this is happening because of the birth of dragons or maybe the dragons are just also a part of the whole reemergence of magic, we are not sure yet. it's a chicken or the egg type of scenario. it could also be a result of the comet that is seen in the skies (it's only referred to in the opening credits, i don't think it's been mentioned in the show yet). I just wanted to point out that magic in general is relatively new to this generation.
science and the citadel (where the Maesters train) had become much more important. there is going to a be a growing conflict between science vs magic as well.
