Still think his brand of story telling isn't my cup of tea. Yea, its not a fairytale but its also not hell on earth. I've heard more spoilers but he puts his characters through so much it makes them uninteresting imo because they become to ****ed up in the process. That may be his point but I'm out.

Robb and Talisa were trying to keep her pregnancy a secret right? Or they were at least the only ones that knew? But Fray's soldier went straight to Talisa's stomach. Sounds like it play's into his earlier comment to them about how he "can always see whats under a woman's dress."

For the people wondering if its all going somewhere...if someone good is gonna come out on top....

Yes.

The whole series is about one person who different factions believe is a different person. The Prince Who Was Promised. Hes supposed to defeat evil. "His is the song of ice and fire" is what is said of him. The Books are called "A song of ice and firE". Not a spoiler since they mentioned it in the show but few seemed to catch it. A Dany scene mentioned it.

He is supposed to be born in salt and smoke or something. A great warrior. Hes gonna defeat the white walkers/evil in general and rule a world of peace.

Her brother Rhaegar thought it was him.

The red lady thinks its Stannis.

The Dothraki thought it was Drogo/Danys son who they called the Stallion who mounts the world before he died.

Many believe its John Snow.

Some even think its Tyrion.

A lot of the red priests think it was misunderstood and the "Prince" is actually a princess....Dany.

Again...not really a spoiler since they have touched on it and nobody knows who it will turn out to be. Could even be someone you wont see on the show for like 3 more years who would be a huuuuuuuuuuuuge spoiler to mention.

So bad as it appears....good is supposed to win.

My guess is that Jon is the prince for reasons id have to spoil things to explain.

But im sure Dany is involved as well. They do have white walkers to kill afterall. And they fear fire.....

Who knows.

But good will win.

And the show did a poor job of explaining just how major it is to do what the Freys did.

You see them all eating bread and little bowls of salt when they came in?

Thats because once someone eats your food(usually bread and salt) its the worst crime possible to hurt them. They are your guests and under your protection. He invited them in....took them under his protection...and killed everyone. Thats what Tryion meant in the preview for episode 10 saying the North wont forget. Frey broke every rule and everyone tied to it is cursed to the north.

Far as Boltons place...

Remember Joffreys mom explaining to him that the North cant be held by an outsider? Its like.....canada sized. But less is just straight ice/woods. Its the size of all the rest of the kingdom put together. And they wont just follow anyone. Especially not someone from the south. Different gods.....way of life. And you cant rule them against their will once winter comes. They know how to make it. People from the south die without their help up there.

Imagine being from Miami and being shipped to rule over Alaska 3000-5000 miles from home with no food/help but what the people there give you.

It takes months just to get there. If they dont accept your rule you cant rule them.

So the Lannisters needed someone from the North to rule for them.

Starks dead.

The only other Starks...the Karstarks(Karhold Starks...shortened to Karstarks over generations)....their lord is dead.

The Umbers lord is supposed to be killed or at least captured at the Wedding with Robb but he was written out. I think the actor didnt want to return or something.

I think there is one more....Glovers perhaps? But I think hes dead.

Just leaves Bolton as a major north lord who the north might follow if they had to.

So the Lannisters make him Warden of the North in place of Ned.

North wouldnt accept someone like Littlefinger or.....some random Lannister. Had to be someone from the North.

So they found someone from the north who also happened to be an asshole and offered it to him.

Works out. For now.

That's straight from the books. And just enjoy the ride. Everything happens for a reason. robb needed to be killed for other characters to get their step up to the plate.

Sansa's story will become a little more interesting as the series progresses. Remember there are still a few starks alive (Sansa, Bran, Rickon, Arya, John Snow).
