Im sure the money is a massive part of it.

Yeah, they've cut a ton of battles. The battle where Tyrion makes his bones, and kills that horse with the spike on his helmet, is completely passed over by him getting conked in the face right on the way out and blacking out.

It was a nifty little story telling gimmick to get them out of having to stage who knows how many extras and use a ton of CGI to make that battle look true to the books, but it did cut like a hundred pages right out of the book.

If you haven't noticed by now the show has never done any flashbacks. They don't even do dreams except for Bran since it's hard to develop him without it.

Would have loved a flashback of Robert's rebellion, but how could they make Robert thin and strong?

Also would have loved a flashback Jaime killing Aerys.

Just came to spread the news about Red Vipers cast, but it's already here.

Guy isn't really looking like Oberyn imo, so my hopes are that he can at least act the shit out of that role. I put my faith into the producers once again even if I wouldn't cast this guy as Oberyn...

nbadraft.net about Joffrey Lauvergne, 55th pick

Quote:
55. Joffrey Lauvergne | 6-11 | 240 | PF/C | France | 21
The French stretch four shows nice touch around the hoop and excellent promise as a perimeter shooter at 6-foot-11, but I must object with how he has handled his time on the Iron Throne as the head of King's Landing. He is not fit to rule in Westeros and will be in for a rude awakening when Daenerys Targaryen makes her way to King's Landing with her dragons and army of freed slaves. -Nick Prevenas

This. When God created this man he had Oberyn in mind

Hopefully the guy they cast has some acting chops because he definitely won't look the part.

I finished book 4 yesterday. It was not bad at all. Started with a Dance with Dragons now and so far it looks great.

A feast for Crows focuses on half of the characters while leaving some important characters out.

I think a Feast for Crows received negative reviews from people who were mad that they had to wait 11 years for a Dance with Dragons to see what happens with the other important characters.

Gut reaction to Oberyn casting is disappointment. He's one of my favorite characters. But outside of Mance, DD has killed it with their casting otherwise so I'm gonna hold back and give them the benefit of the doubt.
