Close, but that's not what he said. Putting just those few additional words in there changes a lot...

In the books, Tyrion was also pissed about Joffrey slicing up the book.

That book is only one of 4 copies in the entire world and was the first edition that was personally hand-written by the maester himself... Tyrion loves his books.

Edit: Also, some differences compared to the books for those who are curious:

Jaime was not present at the wedding. He hadn't arrived at KL with Brienne and Qyburn yet. The wedding was also much more extravagant in the books and plenty of more songs were played. When Joffrey threw food at the Castamere singer, he was probably the 15th guy to sing that song during the wedding so Joffrey was getting fed up. There were no War of Five Kings jousting, it was just two dwarves riding a pig trying to joust each other.

Yeah, I felt like that should have been explored a bit deeper or at least shown clearly in the episode. I didn't read the books and it really didn't occur to me until I watched the episode for the second time that, when he was going crazy with that sword, he was slicing up the book. The angle they chose for that scene didn't show it clearly enough, imo.

But, yeah... I did catch that the second time through and I assumed the book was something incredibly valuable/rare.

Just blocked a virus from that site, can anyone just post a direct link to a working s04e02 torrent please?

Piratebay isn't working for me for whatever reason atm, tried that before even asking.

They must have felt like they had to wrap up the Brienne/Jamie story in Season 3, although I could have watched those two traveling around together forever. They are a great duo.

I liked the idea of the dwarfs playing up the five kings... especially the continued mocking of Renly's "deviant" lifestyle. It makes for awkward moments, considering some of the most badass characters on the show are fellow "deviants."

It's interesting to know which parts were changed for the show and which stayed true to the books. Since Martin actually wrote this episode, it also gave him a chance to revise some of his original stories.
