btw has anyone read "the Hedge Knight"? It's 90 years before ASoIaF starts. Does it contain any characters mentioned in the books? I'm thinking of buying the graphic novel after I'm done reading the books.

i havent read it yet. Aemon was around at the time. Not sure if he's in the prequels but he is the brother of one of the main characters from the Hedge Knight and he mentions him in Feast of Crows

I just read the wiki http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Dunk and it seems like the movie A Knight's Tale ripped off a major plot point from The Hedge Knight.

yeah i read the synopsis on it, and ive seen a knights tale 100 times [love that movie for some reason], i can see a resemblance for sure

I started book 3 today and I love it already. Book 2 seemed to start off slow but this one definitely has a much better pace to it. I can't believe Stannis, Theon and Davos are all still alive. at the end of book 2 it really looked like they were all dead.

I haven't been able to stop reading since I started. I'm about to start the first Danerys chapter soon.

I'm at about 350 in book three. I've slowed just a bit. It's been a rough week or so. But I did read about 60 pages this morning, and with the long weekend, I'll probably get in a couple 300 over the next few mornings. I really like laying in bed and reading in the morning.
