I have thought that Arya's sequence would be interesting read all at once. She's overheard a ton, and been linked to all sides of the war. So her perspective on current events is absolutely all over the place without knowing all the other stuff we know, and only found out things as she did.

Dany is probably the straightest, because she has so little connection to the Westeros' happenings.

just be happy that you didn't have to wait 5 years to find out what happens after book 4, and 10 years to find out what happens to Dany, Jon, and Tyrion like I did!

Damn, at that rate, we're going to have to wait 20 years for the next one. That's some Robert Jordan sh*t going on.

yeah, the first 3 books came out pretty quickly but these last two took forever. he has heard all the criticism so let's hope he takes it to heart and finishes the last 2 quickly.

So I read through near the end of book three last night, through Tyrion's trial:

I'm surprised he never thought to name Jamie as his defender if he were going to do a trial by combat. I know he's not aware of his brother's whereabouts. As far as he knows, it seems he'd guess Jamie is still captive in the bowels of Riverrun, but not being able to get to him didn't stop him from naming Jamie as his defender at the Eyrie. He did it at the Eyrie with the thought it would buy him time. The same could have been assumed here. And at the very least it would have infuriated his father and sister. Or perhaps even forced his sister to reconsider who she'd choose to oppose him. It just seemed like exactly the sort of underhanded thing that would have at least crossed his mind, but he didn't even mention it when he was meditating on the thought of trial by combat.

And I thought all this prior to Oberyn Martell all but insisting on being his champion.

The Red Viper was awesome. It's ashame he didn't hang around longer. I'm sure I could read side stories about Dorne without much difficulty.

I watched the first season of Mad Men and overall I liked it but not enough to start watching season 2. I thought half of the episode would be great while the other half would be boring dialouge.

Does it get better in season 2? If it does I might start watching it.

In the mean time I'm finnally going to start book 4 today, i'll let you guys know what I think.

Ohh, did you see the reviews for A Dance with Dragons yet? On Amazon alot of people are saying it's better then AFFC but there is little forward momentum in the story . I hope that means the last 2 books are packed with major events.

I've never seen Mad Men or Breaking Bad either.

Well BB I tried to pick up at the start of season three, and while it was obviously good, I was just too far behind to get hooked. I watched four or five episodes before losing it.

I'd like to do them both in the couple episodes a night on DVD method.

Dude, jump on the BB train. It's without a doubt the best show on television. If you can get past the slow, plodding first season, you won't regret it.

One critic called it a modern dark western similar to Unforgiven.
