My new favorite conspiracy theory in Westeros is what lies beneath Winterfell. Bran's dream/Summers Pov. The heated waters that flow beneath the castle to heat the walls. Asha says that it was loud enough to wake a _________. What's going on down under...

BAMF. 2) Loved the way it ended with the resurrection of Catelyn, did not see that coming

Don't sleep on Varys though. Those 2 are the front runners IMO.

Is Varys trying to get the throne too? Who would want a eunich on the throne, he'd most likely have a figure head for king, right?

I think he's trying to get a certain Targaryen on the throne so they would remember him and be greatful.

That one seems to be getting a lot of play.

I haven't finished book five yet. I'm a little more than half way through (with coaching football soaking up an extra 10-15 hours a week, on top of the nearly sixty I work every week, my spare time has dwindled rapidly), Tyrion is on the Stinky Maiden with Mormont and Penny making his way to Danerys.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me Tyrion will be accepted, probably reluctantly, and eventually become an asset to Dany, and as much as Tyrion is an outcast seemingly not liked by anyone, the one character with whom he still has an extremely positive relationship would be Jon Snow (and I haven't gotten to JS's "death" either, although death seems to be pretty fickle since The Red Wedding), so it's possible that he winds up being the connection between the two.

Theon has been an incredible story arch. Rarely does a character go from sort of blah, to sort of a darkhorse really likeable character, to somewhat sympathetic due to his relationship to his family, his father and Asha, to downright loathsome, to the point where he was neck and neck with Walder Frey, and finally to someone who's completely sympathetic. That's been a hell of rollercoaster.

Varys and Littlefinger both sort of fell of the face of Westeros after their last major moves. Exporting T and S respectively. Particularly Varys.

T and S are you referring to Lion and Wolf?

don't think he wants the throne, he wants to be a kingmaker imo

agree with the winterfell observations. definitely something going on there. i think storm's end will hatch some dragons too, after all, magic is returning with winter.

What do you guys think?
not sure what to make of that letter but i think it's misdirection on bolton's part, with a just a little bit of truth sprinkled in to confuse us.

one more thought about possible dragons being hatched under winterfell and storm's end. we have seen from dany's 3 dragons that they are ravenous and require alot of food. so if there were dragons under those two forts, how are they being fed? i can't think of a practical way that this can happen with what we have been shown so far.

my theory is something is definitely going on in the crypts (probably some ancient residual magic from brandon the builder) but the dragons are a misdirection.

I saw someone else write down a theory that these dragons might also hibernate. So they might be full grown dragons back in stone form but asleep. However they also mentioned that GRRM has never said anything about dragons hibernating so, it's complete speculation.

full grown, but hibernating dragons could be a plausible explanation. i think whoever has been killing the freys has something to do with whats goin on in the crypts. damn these mysteries!!!

I think the Dragon at Storms End is a stone dragon? At least that's what Melisandre said.

Based on the descriptions, it wouldn't surprise me if Storms End itself is actually a dragon.

The PC Game is coming soon. http://www.gameinformer.com/games/a_...september.aspx

Could be a rush to market. I don't play much in the way of PC games. If the reviews are good I may give it a shot.

Quote:
Even if you've devoured all of George R.R. Martin's books and gorged on the HBO series, there's still more A Game of Thrones content on the menu. Focus Home Interactive is publishing Cyanide's game A Game of Thrones: Genesis at the end of September.

The PC strategy game lets players delve into the political backstabbing, treachery, and underhanded tactics that fans of the novels know and love. Focus says that it's possible for players to even win the game without entering into open war or amassing an army.

The game was written with Martin's supervision, and the campaign spans more than 1,000 years of Westeros' history. Players will have the chance to defend the wall and participate in Aegon the Conqueror's invasion and the War of the Usurper. Look for it in stores and online September 29.

There's no word yet on how often the words "lemoncakes," "gravy," or "trencher" will appear, though you should probably avoid playing the game on an empty stomach just in case.
