This was the episode I was waiting for, from now on we should not view this as an ASOIAF show but an independent adaptation. I don't have any problems with the changes but they are occurring more frequently and have become more influential. To those who have read the books and watches the second episode, what do you think of the modifications?

i'm fine with them. i never expected the translation to be exact, but it is still pretty close. all the major plot points are still covered so i'm happy with it. i'm especially happy they finally increased the size of the wolves. they were pretty much average sized last season.

So since they already have let the critics view the first 4, are we gonna get a bonus episode each week on HBOGO till the 4th ep?

I hope not.

Kinda pissed already that I watched ep. 2 which means I have to wait 2 weeks for another new episode. I wish I had just waited.

Bad enough only watching 1 episode a week, I'd hate to watch 2 then wait 2 weeks every time.

I'm actually tempted to not watch at all until the end of season, that way I can watch multiple episodes at a time like watching a movie.

Thats the reason I dont watch the leaked episodes either. Just makes the wait longer. And I watch the show with other people so I explain to them anything they're confused with.

Still moving too slow (didn't read the books), and they did a piss-poor job of casting and introducing this new "Stannis" character. So bland. You kill off your best actor and character and expect people to keep watching without replacing him? Come on now.

Hope this new leaked episode moves a little faster.

I still don't like the casting, but the guy is doing a pretty good job as Stannis. I had a different picture of him in my head when I read the books. The scene in the first episode where he is going over his letter, where he talks about never loving robert and making sure Sir Jaime Lannister the Kingslayer got his appropriate title was really good at showing you exactly who Stannis is.
Fair points.

Anyway, my new critique after having watched the leaked episode:

Still going too slow. Too long spent on John Snow's story. It should have been one episode to introduce the situation, and one to end it. I don't like the direction that is going. It should be finished, and they should be on to the goddamn zombies already.

Too much gratuitous "buzzwords." You know what I mean. Last season it was all incest! Buzzword. Necrophilia! Buzzword. Lesbian sex! Buzzword. Dwarves having sex! Old child nursing! Kind of annoying.

Thought they would tone it down this season, but nope. Guy ****ing his daughters! Buzzword. More incest! Greyjoy touches his sister's hoo-ha without knowing it's his sister! Incest!

Seriously, it looks like the guy who wrote the book (and the dude who is writing the adaptation for the screen) are middle aged fat men who have never had sex in their lives. It shows in everything that goes on in the story.

Also, it makes no sense that the Stark daughter doesn't just kill the new "King" in his sleep. She'd be able to escape knowing how many armies are building up to fight the dude. She needs to just do it.

Look, I want to like this show. I really do. My friend of almost 20 years is the guy who created the goddamn Dothraki language. But the show itself is just trying to be too edgy and it comes off as childish.

Also, Stannis is unattractive (says the wife) and having attractive males keeps female viewers.

Most of your these things you complain about happened in the book. I know there have been some minor changes and additions, but in general the show is staying true to the books.

I don't understand why they changed Asha Greyjoys name though.
