Default Getting your shoulder dislocated

Anyone ever get their shoulder dislocated from basketball? My left shoulder has been dislocated a lot over the past 1-2 years from basketball. I never had any treatment from it in the past because I never knew how serious the injury was until more recently and now it's already a recurring thing...

I've recently started physio but I've already dislocated it once since then.

Another thing, it's actually happened to both shoulders but luckily my right one has only been dislocated maybe 2-3 times ever. This is so discouraging and tough because I pretty much can't play because going for a block, steal, or even getting bumped the wrong way will cause it to slip. Sucks not being able to play, especially since I've only been really into it in the last 3 years or so

Anyone have any similar experiences?

Default Re: Getting your shoulder dislocated

I completely feel your pain. I dislocated mine during football and I haven't had it checked out by a doctor at all. When I play basketball sometimes I find myself not really going that hard for a black or can't make certain passes in some situations because my should would just pop out of it's socket. I find it difficult to shoot sometimes because I can't really raise my arm to the point where it was once comfortable. By default the best solution is a surgery because if it happened a long time ago chances are it has gotten way beyond a point where a doctor can just snap it back into place. I'm still debating whether or not I should go for it but I'm pulling through somehow.
