Maybe because they are paying him 600k, and they brought him in exclusively to shoot 3's.
And we payed him the rest of his contract, didn't we?... BC is amazing... and still there are a lot of people asking for him to be re-signed... that is another thing that I really want to know why.
About Bargnani, well, Calderon, Barbosa and Bargnani are the reason why we were overachieving the first part of the season... the natural thing is that fans like the players that make them win, not the hyped players that make videos for the Internet

Either way his contract was done at the end of the year. BC confirmed that we were in rebuilding mode so theres no need to have an older Peja around. We weren't going to take back a big contract for Peja.
EDIT: We've seen what a team made of Calderon and Bargs can do. We've seen what a team of Calderon, Bargs, and Bosh can do. Calderon and Bargs as the core are at best 8th place. BC has mistakenly taken them in as the core and its time for him to correct it.
Playing half decent for a stretch of 20 games or so doesn't mean a thing. Bottom line is that results are results, and this is a horrible team, poorly constructed, and our record accurately reflects that.
I think we do need to shift bargnani, he needs to play PF on a team that is challenging, with a decent centre next to him. I kind of look at it like zac randolph, he put up good stats but people used to slate his game, now hes got a real centre next to him he is on a playoff team, dominating imo.
what can we get for him? I'm not sure, but theres got to be teams that are on the bubble that need someone like him to put them over
we cant continue with AB at centre, and we will be better using the Davis and amir combo at PF, We need to go after a real centre in free agency, and continue to add good young players
just quickly looking around, a team like NJ could do with someone like Bargnani, they got a great PG entering his prime, a great young centre in lopez, if they add a scorer in AB at PF they could really improve IMO, and at $8.5m per season, he could be a steal for them

Only one difference. Zach Randolph outside of his first 2 seasons where he was a bench player, has been close to a 20/10 guy for his entire career. The knocks on him were his off the court problems, his maturity, his temper, and his overall laziness on the defensive end. I don't really see those things as similar from a basketball standpoint.
Zeebo has always been a better player than Bargnani. When he was the centre of his team's offense in Portland he was a monster. He only got slagged because they sucked and were the "Jailblazers". Following that up with his time with the terrible knicks didn't help make his stats look any better either. The sad thing about Bargnani is that his stats are still grossly lacking even on a bad team where he's the centrepiece.
What do you think about a trade with Bargs and Okafor as the main components?
That would be a very interesting trade. Its exactly the style of trade Toronto needs. Okafor is due a lot of cash though, so its a gamble. NO would probably be willing as they'd like to cut a little salary, they need a scoring 4 as West and Landry(could be retained and could play with/behind Bargs) and Bargs might do well playing with a great PG like Paul.
I would do it in a heartbeat, as I don't see many options to get Bargs off the roster while getting a defensive, shotblocking C in return. Okafor and Davis up front with Amir behind them gives you a lot more offense. You'd actually need a little more scoring from your bigs at that point though, so you'd have to tweak the roster a little. Then you have to turn smoe combo of Calderon,Bayless,Johnson,Weems,Barbosa(expiring) into a PG that you can rely on .
Pretty good article, has it all right, but the big Q missing is what can they get for him? You still don't throw him away for nothing, and he certainly offers some value for a team who can use him in the right way (I.e. Neiche scorer)
i still really want to see bargnani put alongside Carmelo- how much do you think the raptors would have to add to send bargnani and Calderon to ny for Amare? 2 1sts?
....................
if Raptors keep Bargnani the target has to be pairing him with Nene
