fixed

We need someone whose vision for rebuilding is long term and NOT season to season. Many raptor fans will be okay if we tank or suck the next two seasons as long as we have a vision and are rebuilding the right way. I really do not want to mess this opportunity of trading and drafting well because BC thinks us competing for the 8th spot is good enough.

Trade bargnani to someone that is willing to give back picks and younger talent. Draft the best player available and NOT by what our needs are. Keep calderon as a veteran presence is a good thing on a young team. Do not give out contracts to bench players assuming they will lift the team to the playoffs like BC has always done. Just rebuild. Look at all the teams in the current playoffs that are not the super teams (lakers, miami, orlando, celtics). They built their team and that is the only way toronto will ever compete. Forget about overpaying freeagents. FA's will come here when we have a star and the team is winning.

Bosh re-signed with the Raptors after Colangelo came in. If he wanted to leave, he wouldn't have done that. It wasn't a "I'm out of here ASAP" situation. He stayed and gave the Raptors a chance to build a winning team and Colangelo failed.

The previous post was right. Colangelo came into a perfect rebuilding situation and bungled it almost right from the start. He had some bad luck too (Horford breaking Ford) but it's mostly on him and his awful management.

quick short term fixes do not work. They eventually catch up with you and BC is paying for them now. This is true in every facet of our lives. Problem is, we live in a world where the average fan only cares about what is happening now and does not care about the long term effects. For all we know, BC could sign another FA in the offseason and the raps may make the 7th or 8th spot next season. Fans will be happy, MLSE will sell tickets and everyone will be parading of how great BC is at turning a franchise around. And then we will be back to where we are now.

For example, look at the Dodgers in MLB now. The ownership started off with borrowed money to purchase the team and kept borrowing money. Eventually other problems happened (ownership divorce) and they got caught. Now the league is left to take care of the situation.

Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com this week that the Raptors do have a backup plan if the current management -- at the urging of staunch anti-Colangelo board member Glen Silvestri -- decides it's best to make an immediate change.

Typical MLSE Bulls%^&

Seriously it is so hard to be a fan in this city with the crapola ownership of MLSE.

Some Teachers Pension Board - chartererd accountant making a point about running a sports franchise. As if he knows squat about the game.

If you want to axe BC then "man up" have some brass ones. Fire the guy now - and go get the guy you want. Period.

Quit with the vertern old insider interim crap - executive search committee crap - and get the guy you want now! Hire him! Now ! Today ! Otherwise sign BC for 3 more years and lets get on with the rebuilding.

Colangelo should have been told he's not coming back a while ago. The replacement should already be in the works and ready for draft day. This situation is turning into a mess. I don't want the Raptors to have no one with long-term ties to the team running the draft but I also don't want Colangelo retained just for the sake of "stability".
