Just top 4? I think even the middle-tier teams of the AFC like the Bengals and Jaguars can even beat the Bears. And the Bears are not the best team in the NFC. Cowboys and Saints are both more legit than Chicago
Bears are better than any NFC teams. Nearly half the starters on defense were out for this game against the Bucs and they still found a way to win. Lovie Smith gets outcoached every game but they're still a 12-2 football team.
Saints got beat by a pathetic Redskins team and no one says anything bad about them. Bears find a way to win with a banged up roster and they still stink.
The only hope for the Bears is for their competitors to overlook them. Looks like it's going to happen. They just need to get healthy on defense, and for Smith to coach with some balls for once.
PS: The 'great' Eagles were beat by Tampa earlier in the season. Now they're the new flavor of the week.
Amazing how fast things changed there, one moment Chiefs are only down by 3-7 and block the Chargers punt on the 15 yard line after holding them to 1 yard on 3 plays, the next thing you know they're down 14-3 and having to punt themselves after getting 0 yards on their own 3 downs.
So if we either win against the Falcons or Denver, or atleast play them decently, it should only help us out for next year.
One of the biggest myths: Teams finish out the season strong and everybody assumes that success is automatically going to carry over to next season. Same thing happened with the Dolphins last year. They won the final six games or so, and everybody jumped picked them as the breakout team for this season, but it didn't work out that way. So next year it's going to the Niners and Titans whom people are going to jump all over their bandwagons.
Peyton to Marv for six three times last night! What a show.
The AFC Championship is gonna be a better game than the superbowl. No doubt about that in my mind. Could we have another Pats/Colts playoff game? Or better, the two best players in the game (peyton, tomlinson) squaring off against one another? What about Ray Lewis and that defense against Tomlinson, or Peyton? So many awesome scenerios.
Here is to Peyton & Marv.. guys like Carson & CJ can only wish to have that "feel" for one another like Peyton & Marv share.
