How much time you got?

Has nothing to do with this conversation though.

Thats two now that just say nothing to disprove my points.

1) Any kid can rap like them. No kid can play like kobe, bron, mj, etc.

2) They set no new styles; just good solid rappers.

Im not typing they're bad, just not all that good, and DEFINATELY not even close to GOAT.

If my 13 year old can rap like em, they aint the best.

He cant dunk from the free throw line. You get it yet?

fucc

You obviously put a lot of merit into flow/rhyme scheme and what not. But just because someone can't be emulated, doesn't mean they're better than someone else who's easily emulated.

Tupac's flow isn't as difficult to spit as Twista's. No doubt. But that doesn't mean any 13 year old can understand why Tupac says the things he says, or what brings him into that state of mind.

To take it out of rap for a second.. Look at a group like the Beatle's. "Anyone" could emulate their songs. But could those emulators understand the driving force behind the lyrics? The reason certain words were inserted instead of other words? No.

Now Metallica, their drummer is an absolute beast, and most people couldn't dream of playing drums like he does. Even with years of practice. So is Metallica better than the Beatles? Maybe you'd say so, but outside of Metal fans, the resounding answer to that question will be HELL NO.

And let's look at your basketball analogy. Vince Carter had physical skills that next to NO ONE, even among the most athletically gifted in the world, could match. But what did he do with those skills?

Then you've got someone like Steve Nash. Sure, his game could more easily be emulated by the vast majority of athletes. But yet, does that mean he hasn't done more with his career than Vince Carter? That he shouldn't be ranked higher than him on all-time lists?

and finally on this board, i can use my analogies to basketball players so can understand.

Im a been in the hip hop game since 1992 and was (before kids and wife) a professional.

tupac and biggie are good rappers, but ANY 13 year old kid in america can duplicate their album after having it for ...hmmm maybe a week, maybe a couple days.

20 years of practice and a hooper could not duplicate a fade away like jordan. Sky hook like kareem, 3 point daggers like bird, passing of magic. U just cant duplicate it !!

ANYBODY CAN DUPLICATE A TUPAC BIGGE CD

can you duplicate el-p? twista? big jus? hell no.

so you're saying El-P better than Biggie and Pac?

So by your logic Gerald Green is better than John Stockton because any 13 year old can pass the ball and make shots or layups but not anyone can do between the legs dunks and 360's?

Your logic is stupid son. Rapping isnt only about rapping as fast as you can

Your vince carter analogy has no merit. Cus he IS a basketball player, his BASKETBALL skills are not the greatest. pac and biggie's skills are not the greatest.

I feel what you are typing about metallica, but like i typed, i FEEL that being able to be imitated is the best way to judge a person's skill level in ANY field.

Ive been in MANY DJ battles. Going head up, one on one, in front of (sometimes) thousands of people. You go up there and try to do shit that your competitor cant do. And, the ultimate clown, is to take what your competitor is doing, same beat, same routine, and flip it 2,3,4,5 (etc) times harder than they are. Thats hip hop. Thats bball. Thats life. If two people sells cars at a car lot, one could give the customer a wonderful experience, make sure everything was taken care off (The Beatles) and one is a hustler and closes out 4-5 people a day, (Metallica) he is gonna be cashin HUGE commission checks and runnin the place in a few months.

Same thing with hoops. If you could do what MJ, Kobe, bron could do, you'd be the best and could take out anyone. A GREAT rapper should be able to go head up with anyone, on stage, and eat em up. At the drop of a dime. I FEEL that is much more important than the thought process and life experiences that inspired the rapper to rapped what he/she rapped. All rappers go through shit, have feelings in their raps, but a Truly GREAT rapper is just like a great hooper, CAN NOT BE IMITATED.

pac and biggie are one of the best story tellers, and express their feelings the best. Great . Fine. That s what they are. But pure RAPPING, no way, no f-in way. Not even close.

and yes, lars ulrich, runs shit. and just for all kills ANY record on drums period, i actually had a routine with the breakdown in shorest straw.

agree to disagree i guess.

your dumb, and im not your son, kid.

John Stockton is an EXCELLENT player, one of the best ever. Gerald Green cant emulate his passing or bball iq, how to lead a team. not even close. Stockton can do WAY more things he cant that are MUCH more important. Stupid analogy.
