If you're watching the NFL network, Mike Mayock just dropped a great stat.
Pittsburgh and Green Bay were #1 and 2 in the league in sacks last year.
THATS the biggest reason they were in the Superbowl. Most people think its just Ben Roethlisberger and Aaron Rogers "carrying the team on their backs" and "willing them to victory" or whatever romantic cliches the media loves to use.
No, only dumbasses that didn't actually watch the games were saying those things. Anyone that watched the Steelers and Packers last year knew their defenses were going to play as big of a role in their postseason success as their quarterbacks. Both teams just happened to have really, really good QB's and that didn't hurt things.
Oh come on. People know how great those two defenses are and talk about them all the time.
Sure some people do some times, but if you watch PTI or listen to Jon Gruden or Jaws or whoever, they are CONSTANTLY repeating that "you need a guy like a ben roethlisberger or an aaron rogers at quarterback if you're gonna be successful in this league" type stuff.
If Roethlisberger and Rogers weren't on teams with superbowl defenses and good offensive casts, they wouldnt have the success theyve had.
people think you need to find "that guy" first, and then you'll be successful. but really its the team success that creates "that guy" to the extent of peoples fawning. yes, ben and aaron are two of the better players at their position. but so are polamalu and woodson, nobody says "you need that guy in the secondary to win a superbowl!" its only said about QB. you see what im sayin?
That would be the best pick. Gabbert isn't going to come in and immediately give you anything more or better than what you can get from Skelton or Hall at QB. Peterson might be the best player in this draft so him going to Arizona at #5 would be a bit of a steal and an excellent pick.

Yeah, I get what you are saying. I might not notice it as much because I really don't watch ESPN's football coverage much anymore. The only time I really watch ESPN is for actual games and 30 for 30 these days.
