If Beaubois is 100% and Butler is say, 80%, what chance do you give the Mavericks to pull the upset?
The Lakers are the defending champs and the best team in the NBA. Mavericks are the clear underdogs but I feel like they have a puncher's chance if Dirk plays lights out and Chandler can keep Bynum in check.
Both teams completely healthy and clicking on all cylinders, LA in 5. With Dallas healthy and ready but LA in their current state then LA in 6. Maybe if Kidd was in his prime they'd have a shot
^ Kidd in his prime, the Mavs would win this series in 6. He not only would average a triple double but he would check Kobe and do a great job, while making Fisher look like he's glued to the floor.
But Butler is not going to be in any condition to help them even at 100%. Roddy Buckets is just going to make up for what Jet will fail to do. So the Mavs still have no shot.
Jet will have 2 good games and do his little flying thing, the balance of the series he will chuck and brick his way just like he did last year and the year before.
Key to this series for Dallas is going to be Trix, he will need to run that lane like he is 25 again. His movement will keep Ron occupied. If Dallas plays will a small backcourt Ron is going to post whoever they put on him as I expect them to put the 3 on Kobe, so Ron will get one of the small guards on his back and flex his muscles.
What has Beaubois been all season? Can you guys just accept the fact that he isn't as good as you all thought he was?
and LOL at the guy above me. Kidd in his prime? Okay, how about Kobe in his prime? He would average about 40+ ppg against the Mavericks like he always does.

I'm not sure I'm ready to write off Roddy just yet. He was hurt most of the year and the struggled to get minutes. Thats part of the problem. We haven't had one of our 7 top guys pretty much all year.
The big key would be Butler though. He's are for sure 2nd best player when he's healthy. He's tough. He can get his own shot. He can defend. If he is at 85% or better, its a huge factor in this series.

Is Butler out for the whole playoffs?
I doubt a 100% Roddy would do anything. Butler on the other hand

Not sure about Butler. There are reports he is planning on playing this series.
Actually, Roddy is the wild card we need against the Lakers. He will be able to fly by any of their perimeter defenders and hopefully get us some easy baskets for himself and others.
Having Roddy for like 15 or so minutes a game would be huge.
He's a quick young guard, and the lakers always have problems with them. The mavs have barea who is quick, but is not as crafty around the rim as Roddy, and with Bynum and Pau he would get swatted so hard it would say spalding across his forehead. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
If the Mavs get 1 of the first 2 at staples I say Mavs in 7.
butler could be a factor, but beaubois sucks..... one of the most overhyped young players in the league. dude has shown absolutely NOTHING this year and the mavs are better with stevenson at the 2
