Lets say you are the best small forward in the NBA...
Your teammate is (arguably) (lol he is) the best shooting guard in the NBA. Your team is in the NBA Finals. You have a horrible series, 14/6/6 the whole series while shooting 31%, while your teammate averages 36/5/5 shooting 49%.
Would you be happy about the championship, or would you be upset about playing so poorly and having to be carried?
Re: Lets say you are the best small forward in the NBA...
He wants a ring...I dont think he cares if hes 2nd option, He's going to have 25000 points plus, All defensive,MVPS,First Teams, He needs rings to shoot up in the top 20 and what Kobe has to hit top 10.

I'd say James Worthy was happy Majic and Kareem brought him a ring
Re: Lets say you are the best small forward in the NBA...
If you suck throughout the series you're going to be disappointed in yourself, but of course you'll be happy to have the ring. Plus, no matter if you do less than stellar in a stretch of the regular season or in a Finals series, you're going to try to learn from it if you're a good player. Let's say the same band of players make the Finals twice in a row, they may need said SF to carry the load that time.

I'd be disappointed with myself, but if we ended up beating one of the best teams for the title, that means I didn't do too bad so I'd be mainly happy.

Kobe got carried through the finals last year. I don't think he cared too much.

You win a championship... Be happy. Plus, if you did a lot for your team through out the whole year, and the earlier playoff series, just because you played like sh*t in the finals, doesn't mean you shouldn't be happy. And you win the finals... I wouldn't be happy if I won the NBA championship and I either got junk minutes, and never played... Then I wouldn't care... well I would care, I'd get the bling, but I mean, I wouldn't be happy.
