Do you think the championship trophy would ever be renamed...

The trophy is now named after Larry O'Brien who was Stern's predecessor and held his position for 9 years, in comparison to Stern's 28 and counting. All things considered, do you think this would eventually happen? And if it ever did, how would you feel about it?

Consider this: Larry O'Brien had been the commissioner of the NBA for 9 years and the trophy was renamed after him in honor of his work through his relatively short tenure. Most notably, he oversaw the ABA/NBA merger and saw rise of the NBA to national prominence through icons like Dr. J, Magic, and Bird.

David had also seen the NBA grow to brand new heights in popularity and directed a lot of expansion of the league as world culture, technology, and the game itself had changed.

Both have met controversy for business decisions they've made and certain public relations issues. Especially depending on how his tenure ends, whether it's with a timely, graceful bow-out or a sudden death (hopefully not, obviously), I couldn't see Stern not being honored in some big way by the league. Bill Russell was honored by having the Finals MVP trphy named after him. Somehow I think Stern would have the league championship trophy in his name, or the MVP, if it had to be by way of trophy that is.

That's like saying if Kobe would have won every Final he has been too, lets say he got atleast two more League MVP. The Finals MVP trophy would be renamed as the Kobe Bryant's Finals MVP.
