Copied and Pasted from a deleted Bird vs Dirk thread, where the 1st 3 poster thought that maybe Dirk can surpass Bird if he wins one ring this year.
I think it's the way people think when they're younger. I remember when my cousin and I were in our early teens, on Sports Classic they showed the game where Thomas scored like 24 points in the fourth to win the game, and he asked me, "So is Isiah the greatest player of all time?" Only having been into the NBA for a few years, their reaction to a big game is different than someone who has seem them countless of time throwout the year.

Dallas got 52 points from their bench, shot 40% from 3, MADE 34 free throws, and only won because of Westbrook playing like garbage. The Mavs played the absolute best game they could possibly play and won by 9.
They play team ball and have been playing consistent. I wouldn't be surprised if the same performance comes game 2. For okc, nothing surprising, KD got over his average and Westbrook? Westbrick.

combined Durant and westbrook had 60 points. They had a combined 37 FT attempts. Mavs had 36 as a team. Only other person on OKC that did anything was Ibaka and most of those were on easy dunks when the Mavs best big man was sitting due to foul trouble. Peja Kidd Stevenson and Chandler each all only had 3 points. Gonna put odds more on the Mavs bench waking up and getting solid contributions from everybody but that's why they play the games.
