Question Should two hands in the back of a post player making a move be an immediate foul ?

Even in situations where the defender isn't forcefully pushing on the offensive player ?

I think they should consider allowing a minimal amount. Watching this Mavericks bs Thunder game, it's been called far too much in situations where the offensive player really hasn't yet been impeded in their move.

Thoughts ?

I'm a fan of advantage - disadvantage officiating. Like you said, it's not even affecting anything (and same with meaningless perimeter "bumps"), don't bother calling it.

couldnt agree more....post play tends to be where the majority of ticky tack fouls take place.

the NBA loves this gray area with respect to certain rules and enforcing them.

I understand, but when the defensive player I'd exerting little to no force, the whistle shouldn't automatically blow in my perfect world.

It seemed to rob the competitive spirit from 3 key possessions in tonite's Mavericks Heat matchup just when the game was reaching it's natural competitive peak.
